In the 1960's, the hippie-free love movement spawned a sound that is sustaining and powerful. A message of being discontented with injustice and too honor and respect yourself and your fellow man, no matter what race or creed. John Welton lives this music. Even at the tender age of 4, John would bring his mother stacks of papers with all shapes and colors of smiley faces. When she inquired of him what they meant, he simply stated, "These are all the people at my concert!". With a rich musical background courtesy of John's parents, by the age of 5, John was performing concerts on pots and pans and even brooms for guitars. He was reciting and singing lyrics to great songs by groups such as CSNY and The Eagles. He was a natural and thanks to two very aware and supportive parents, we have the ber- talented singer and musician today.
His early performances in his teens consisted of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden music. Coming more into the present day, John came to find the Iguanahead Family. He found a great group of people who would put on shows at the Bear Creek Amphitheatre. It was there that John became enamored and then passionately in love with the Jam Band Scene. The free flow of creativity and the overwhelming passion with the music was the kind of family he had been searching for musically. He then began to write lyrics and branched out from more acoustic beginnings to the incorporation of electric guitar with broad influences such as reggae, funk to zydeco. John's passion has always been to take his listeners on an "ocean of emotions" and then bring them safely to their destination happy and at peace having learned something more powerful exists in this life. His journey has led him down a wonderful, mystical path in which he has gotten to perform with and be on the same stage as :
Richie Havens, Big Brother & the Holding Co., Sam Bush, David Grisman Quintet, Dark Star Orchestra, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Airto Moreira, Ekoostik Hookah, Keller Williams, Rusted Root, The Recipe, Carlos Jones & the Plus Band, Little Feat, Boombox, Donna the Buffalo, Wookiefoot, Sultans of Bing, Burning River Band, Melvin Seals, Victor Wooten, Wish You Were Here, Railroad Earth, Bernie Worrell, Phil Keagy, Leftover Salmon, Jerry Garcia Band, and many more.
At the present day, John Welton has combined his efforts along with Alchemy House Productions to provide his music an even broader expanse of listeners and is planning his upcoming Tour , his new studio release along with a Live Release from the Oasis Pub and Grill.
John was also recently interviewed on the KsFrameofMind radio show on BlogTalkRadio.com and the outpouring of love and support of his fan base was astounding. You can download that interview and get to know John better and hear his dynamic and inspiring music.
His fan base adore him and I too, was mesmerized as I listened to this man who simply wants to help the world by making fantastic music to live by. I am struck by this man's humility while being so wildly talented. He sees his fans as friends. There is such a bond that even his fans refer to him as "My Friend John". Indeed, John Welton is a powerful friend, powerful man and lives a powerful life.
