Johnnie Car, one of the major icons in civil rights, died on February 22nd after she had been hospitalized by a stroke she suffered on February 11th. Johnnie Car was he woman who reserved her seat in history literally by joining Rosa Parks in the Montgomery bus boycott. She was active in civil rights her whole life until her stroke. She was as healthy as she could have been up until the stroke and then she took a turn for the worse. She has meant so much to so many people and her legend will continue on forever. She will be missed. She was 97 years old.
