Johnny Crome: From Football to Hip-Hop

Maria Grace

New Haven, Connecticut is a city that brings to mind the prestigious and discriminative Yale University. With all its charms and influence on society, it is often times hard to believe the environment in which it dwells. New Haven is a city full of poverty and violence that lives just outside of the walls that housed the bodies of politicians whose promises to change New Haven's fate, went unfulfilled. As the students of Yale remain protected from this reality, there are those who live in it.

What comes out of this? Men like Johnny Crome. With determination he refused to succumbed to the life that otherwise would have been paved for him. With a bright football career ahead of him, a familiar but unforeseen accident caused those dreams to shatter. However, for the music world this cruel twist of fate turned out fortuitous. Johnny Crome is crossing the lines between hip-hop and alternative music in a way that is unique to his own style. With concerned lyrics and melodic beats Johnny Crome is not, only danceable it is listenable.

A great deal of performers looks for the quick club buck. However, Johnny Crome is looking for something else. His commitment to sound and his vision for music will open his listener base reminiscent of artists like RUNDMC and Public Enemy who crossed industry barriers, knowing that those walls were only created for those who need them.

With his upcoming album release "Life In 3D" its will be apparent to all who listen just where Johnny Crome is going and how he is going to get there. For more information on Johnny Crome and his new album go to www.johnnycromenow.com and open your mind.
