Johnny Depp, People's Sexiest Man Alive 2009

You are probably reading the latest issue of People Magazine and already know that Johnny Depp, 46, has a 2nd win as the Sexiest Man Alive. His first being 2003.

Great news for male actors in their mid-40's, age does not stop them from being the Sexiest Man Alive. But who has scored the Sexiest Man Alive in their 50's?

In 1998 Harrison Ford, 56, made People's Sexiest Man Alive. He was not the only one. Even Richard Gere made the list in 1995 at the young age of 50. Nick Nolte was 51 during the year of 1992 when he scored his top spot on the list. And the oldest one out of everyone was during the year 1989 at 59, Sean Connery.

In 1998 John F. Kennedy Jr., non-actor at the age of 27 won. And in 1993 Cindy Crawford, 27 at the time, must have pulled some strings with her beauty mark as People decided to create a Sexiest Couple Alive naming Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere. Richard Gere was a youthful 44 back then.

People's Sexiest Man Alive has been an ongoing success since 1985. Their first winner was Mel Gibson in the early age of 29.

Brad Pitt was 31 during his first win in 1995 and 5 years later he won as the first two-time winner in the year of 2000. His friend and buddy, George Clooney, won his first at the age of 36 in 1997, and his second in 2006.

As for People's Sexiest Man Alive 2009, Johnny Depp, he most likely will be celebrating modestly. For a once young kid who was obsessed with the show Dark Shadows, Depp has grown up into a very sexy guy with a fan base of higher than usual numbers.

Depp not only was fantastic in movie roles, he is not a bad musician. Depp played in multiple bands, including P. Depp played bass/guitar accompanied by Gibby Haynes, Sal Jenco, and Bill Carter (songwriter). They played at The Viper, once co-owned by Johnny Depp. The Viper was the same location River Phoenix died, brother to Rain and Joaquin Phoenix.

Time would prove talent from 21 Jump Street up to more detailed roles such as Eward in Edward Scissorhands and yes, Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean.

He met his lovely companion, Vanessa Paradis, while filming the Ninth Gate and they had two children, Lily-Rose Melody Depp and John "Jack" Christopher Depp III. Lily-Rose fell ill to E Coli as her kidneys began to shut down. She had a lengthy stay at the hospital and recovered during 2007. Depp, being the savvy guy he is known for, dressed up in his Captain Jack Sparrow costume to read to the children of the hospital stories, for 4 hours. One year later he donated a handsome sum of $2 million to the hospital. That was in 2008.

Looks aside, if you were to vote on inner worth and the good of mankind, Johnny Depp would still be People's Sexiest Man Alive 2009.
