Johnson & Johnson's Clean & Clear Oil-Free Dual Action Moisturizer Acne Cream
A Review of the Clean & Clear Acne Cream
First off, the packaging of the product was very convenient; the moisturizer comes in a bottle with a purple cap on top that can be squeezed to pump out the medication or can be twisted to prevent anything from coming out. This prevents any dry cream from accumulating on the sides or on the cap as is often seen in other products. The acne cream itself was very pleasant to apply, since it did not have any particularly bothersome smells. The smell was more of a slightly-sweet cream rather than any alcoholic smells that are common in salicylic acid medications. The cream was very light and absorbed into the skin very fast, most likely due to the fact that part of the cream is a moisturizer. The cream was gone in no time and I did not have to wait for anything to dry before going out.
What sets this product apart from many other acne medications out there is the fact that the moisturizer that contains the acne medication is very effective. The product is a smart buy for its moisturizer alone, which was very effective for my dry and chapped skin, and the acne medication seems like just an effective bonus. The cream itself did not feel like a typical greasy, hard acne cream, since the moisturizer that carries the salicylic acid for acne was very soft and light to the touch.
As for results, I found the cream to be very successful for spot acne. The cream managed to shrink most of my acne within the first week and made many of the larger pimples smaller and painless. Also, the cream did not dry out my skin and did not irritate it, which often happens to me since I have dry skin. I would recommend this cream for teenagers suffering from spot acne and travelers who need to take a bottle of acne cream with them (or just a bottle of moisturizer, since the acne cream serves as a two-in-one product) since the packaging is very travel friendly and is guaranteed not to spill in a suitcase or bag. The biggest plus of the product is its dual functionality, and those who need to apply an acne medication and a moisturizer every morning or every night should consider this product from Clean & Clear.
