Join the Fun at Alphonsus Academy Art & Soul 2011

Last year, I attended the Art & Soul 2010 gala, sponsored by Alphonsus Academy & Center for the Arts, located at 1439 West Wellington in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. I won a raffle prize, and am hoping that my winning streak will carry over for this year's gala. The school will be hosting the Art & Soul 2011 event on February 5, 2011 and the proceeds will go towards the school. Last year, if memory serves me, they had a jewelry raffle, but I know for sure that this year they'll have one.

Other than the jewelry raffle -- and this is pretty cool -- an online auction will go live on January 18, 2011 from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. I donated a few items, and it will be fun to see them posted on the auction site. I hope someone bids on them, because if they don't, I'll have to bid on them myself!

I would have never known about the Art & Soul event, had my cousin's daughter not attended the school. The tickets are $70, and you can buy them online from the school's website. Make sure you purchase them before January 24, 2011, because after that, they go up to $80.

I understand, that this year, parents will be able to purchase black and white portraits of their children that will be framed, and delivered by Valentine's Day.
