You can also do your part by spreading the word. Visit the "Stamp out Hunger" website and print out their community flyer and pass it around your neighborhood. You can request a "spread the word" email on the "Stamp out Hunger" website and have it sent to your email inbox to forward to everyone you know. "Stamp out Hunger" is on Twitter as well as on Facebook. Spreading the word can lead to great success on Saturday, May 8, 2010 as well as feeding our neighbors in our backyard nationwide.
Feeding America is the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization that serves approximately 25 million low-income Americans each year through a network of 205 food banks and their 63,000 charitable feeding agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, and the homeless shelters. According to the Hunger in America 2010, a report on Emergency Food Distribution, hunger is increasing at an alarming rate in the United States and the Feeding America's nationwide network of food banks is feeding 1 million more Americans each week than they did in 2006. Feeding America provides food to 37 million Americans and nearly 14 million are children and nearly 3 million are seniors. The report shows that one in eight Americans rely on Feeding America for food and groceries.
It's time to "Stamp out Hunger" and do your part to help your neighborhood and feed the hunger in America. Just think if EVERYONE nationwide places a bag at their mailbox on Saturday, May 8, 2010, the good we can do to feed our hungry Americans. Do your part on Saturday, May 8, 2010 as well as spread the word. We can all make a difference and "Stamp out Hunger".
