Jolicloud was created with netbooks and older computers. Because Jolicloud is using the super fast Linux Kernel as its underlying architecture, there is a small memory foot print, and you do not really need to run anti-virus software, which also may have a slowing effect on older, low-end PCs.

Jolicloud is based on Ubuntu, thus when you install the operating system, you will basically have the same experience you have when installing Ubuntu. The graphical user interface of the installer is laid out clearly and the installation process well documented.
