Jon Adkins - His New York Mets Career 2007

Stephen Sullivan

The Mets acquired right-handed pitcher Jon Adkins from the San Diego Padres along with outfielder Ben Johnson in exchange for pitchers Royce Ring and Heath Bell on November 15, 2006. He started the season 2007 with the New Orleans Zephyrs, the Mets triple A affiliate. Adkins was called up to the Majors in July and made his Mets debut on July 27 against the Washington Nationals. He pitched a perfect seventh inning in the Mets 6-2 loss.

It would be his only appearance in a Met uniform as he was sent back down to the minors. Following the season he was released by the Mets and was picked up by the Cincinnati Reds.
