Jon Gosselin Audiotape Scandal: Did He Say He Pimped His Children?

Jon Gosselin Continues to Work on His Image

Did Jon Gosselin actually say that he "put [his] kids out there to every pedophile on the planet and they never got paid for it"? Why is Jon Gosselin (late of the recently ended "Jon and Kate Plus 8" reality show and all around fiasco) allowed to even talk? Does this man have no self-restraint? Does Jon Gosselin actually consider his words before he utters them? According to a recorded conversation between himself and Lindsay Lohan's father, the answer to those questions would be a resounding "No!" to each one. Radar Online reported that Jon Gosselin told Michael Lohan back in June (when the two were palling around, pitching really bad reality show ideas) that he thought TLC was afraid of him and accused the network that broadcast "Jon and Kate Plus 8" of cheating him out of money.

Radar Online has obtained and posted audio tapes of Jon Gosselin, presumably from the aforementioned Michael Lohan, that reveal how Jon Gosselin truly feels about the network that made him a household name. He openly revealed to Lohan that he was going to say whatever he wanted about TLC because he felt that the network was afraid of him. The audiotapes, which were recorded in June, surfaced just as "Jon and Kate Plus 8" aired its finale (Monday night). It is unknown what impact, if any, that the audiotapes will have on the $5 million lawsuit Jon Gosselin filed against TLC, complaining that the network had ruined his reputation and kept him from making deals with other networks.

In fact, many saw Jon Gosselin's move to pull his children from the hit reality show as both a stab at TLC and at Kate Gosselin, his wife and co-star that he's attempting to divorce. But in a quick custody settlement, Jon Gosselin put up barely a fuss over custodial control of the children and even brought flowers to Kate Gosselin at the finalization. And Kate Gosselin walked out with custody of the "Plus 8," sans flowers.

Could Jon Gosselin's caving on custody have been foreshadowing? Could he have known that those audiotapes were about to surface?

Still, did Jon Gosselin actually say he was pimping his kids to pedophiles? And did he say that their not getting paid for their exposure to pedophiles was his chief concern? Or was that something misheard?

Jon Gosselin has proven his ability to be verbally obtuse on many occasions. Saying that his wife (now ex-wife), Kate Gosselin, "disgusted" him and stating in his complaint against TLC in his lawsuit that he was now too famous to work at a normal job, Jon Gosselin has taken classlessness to a new low. Or most thought he had. Until this.

If Jon Gosselin had doubts and concerns about the safety of his children, especially against child predation, what does it say about a man who would allow fame and fortune to obviate an argument for his children's physical safety? And somehow implying that if they had at least been paid for becoming pedophile targets that their lives -- and by extension, his -- might be somehow better served simply defies the limits of credulity. That he would wait until he was fired before revoking his permission for the children to be filmed further darkens his sudden attack of parental responsibility (albeit tinged with parental greed).

Jon Gosselin filed his $5 million lawsuit against TLC claiming that the network was responsible for his inability to get work in the entertainment industry, that they had somehow blackballed and/or defamed him. But Jon Gosselin's romp through the tabloid press in the past few months, his seemingly myriad alleged affairs (while married and separated), his public divorce scandal, and his verbal indiscretions seem to have done far more to color him objectionable for television (or anything else) than whatever TLC might have done.

After the public airing of the audiotapes and Jon Gosselin's rather unfortunate choice of words, he will be lucky if TLC's lawyers do not erect a body-length mirror in front of the plaintiff's table and rest their case...

I agree that Jon isn't always that bright, but seeing both parents with the kids, he's still a better parent than Kate is.

you asked 3 questions, then answered with "a resounding No." So, Jon *didn't* say it?
The editorial values on Associated Content are pretty bad.

JerseyNana:"they both should get a life, one that we don't have to watch."

    OR HEAR ABOUT!!!
    THEY BOTH DISGUST ME!!

  • GO KATE! 11/26/2009

Jon is a mess - he should hide in rehab for awhile.

Both Jon and Kate are equally as guilty using their kids for tons of money.
Neither one is the better parent and the show should have been taken off the air when they announced the separation. Or better yet, even before that and Kate would not have been allowed to continue her charade. We won't know for a few years what the kids really think but the truth of the matter is that both parents have failed their kids.

Wow, the situation just gets worse with the Gosselin family. Makes me glad NOT to be in the limelight or on a reality show. But you write about it so well!

  • Abby Greenhill 11/26/2009

I don't think Jon and Kate's divorce is final yet. Jon needs to grow up and find a real job.

  • Stop the hate 11/26/2009

Kate & Jon pimped those kids together.
And for all those who are obsessed watching those kids, that's creepy!

If the so called "fans" truly do care about the children, the sooner you leave this family alone, the sooner they can heal.

Stop trashing their parents! Your comments are worse than any tabloid story, and the kids will some day read them.

That is a scary thought with Lindsay Lohan's father and Jon Gosselin teaming up! I cannot imagine that any fruitful business venture would ever come of this! Good article.
