Jon and Kate Latest Divorce Drama

Nina Rotz
Jon and Kate are getting divorced, according to several sources close to the reality TV parents and buzzing news reports. Gosselin's troubled marriage has long been over, with Kate telling Jon at least six months ago that the marriage was caput. Every detail of Jon and Kate divorce announcement has been planned out, much like their Jon and Kate Plus 8 TV show, with the official announcement coming on Monday night's episode. TLC has very much been a part of Gosselin's drama, and their divorce decision. The network is trying hard to cash in on the divorce hype, releasing several promotional videos with the couple discussing their new lives, and major changes. Gosselin's recently had their 10th wedding anniversary, but did not celebrate together, as Jon and Kate have done everything possible to stay away from each other.

Jon and Kate Separation Details: Jon Filing Divorce Papers
Jon is the one who will file official divorce papers next week, according to several media outlets. Gosselin's original plan was to file legal papers by July 15th, but the date has been moved up due to mounting pressure and paparazzi following closely. Jon is expected to file papers Monday at the earliest, or immediately after official show announcement.

Jon Moving To A Bachelor Pad
Jon has been seen checking out real estate markets in New York City, with papparazzi catching him visiting an available apartment that runs about $3,200 a month in rent. Jon has been linked to Deanna Hummel, woman who made national news with reports of Jon's infidelity. However, Jon has been linked to other women since, including Hailey Glassman. Hummel and Jon were on a recent vacation in Utah, which conveniently fell on Kate's birthday.

Trouble Selling Old Gosselin Home
With divorce news, and all the drama surrounding Jon and Kate, the couple has also had to deal with their old Pennsylvania home. The couple put their Elizabethtown, PA home on the market shortly after moving into their new multi-million dollar digs. However, the house has sat on the real estate market for three months, with no interest. Jon and Kate Gosselin moved from a modest suburban home on one-third-acre lot, to a multi-million dollar mansion on 24 acres of land.

TLC Upset With Jon and Contract Obligations
Jon, often attacked by media for hanging out with other females, has been avoiding Kate and the tension between the couple is mounting. According to unconfirmed reports, Jon and Kate have been living lives separately for months, with Jon not sleeping in the couple's bedroom and often being unavailable for filming with the family.

TLC has been counting on Jon to be available for filming, and of course running up viewer numbers based on the new interest. Jon has been upsetting TLC producers because of his unwillingness to be around Kate, or to film when requested. Jon has been taking more time away, weeks at a time, which is not going over well with TLC honchos.

Jon and Kate Plus Eight Will Move On
TLC has no plans to stop filming Jon and Kate's popular reality show. The kids will still remain a big part of the show, with episodes centering around the Gosselin's sextuplets and twins. Parents will remain important, but smaller roles of the show. TLC plans to film each parent and how they are coping with now being single parents, and how their parenting styles differ.

Kate Gosselin Fine With Divorce
While divorce is always difficult for the entire family, Kate has been moving on with her life. Her first big step into being newly single? A brand new SUV purchase, a Land Cruiser V8. An interesting non-hybrid choice for Kate, who is big on "Green Living" and feeding her children "organic" food. An estimate cost of a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser V8 is $64,755. Gosselin's get paid $75,000 per Jon and Kate Plus Eight episode, and their other income comes from books, speaking tours and autograph signings.

Record Breaking Ratings Expected On Monday
TLC is expecting huge numbers on Monday night, when the official divorce announcement is expected to be made by Jon and Kate. While Gosselin's official legal separation is a family tragedy, it is also something TLC does not want to miss out on. The cracks in Gosselin marriage has long been captured on film, with Kate's inflexibility in marriage and unrealistic demands. Jon has always been filmed as a lost individual, who only goes along with Kate's charade for the sake of their children.

New TLC promos released show Kate in tears, discussing "this" as something that has been looming over the family for a long time. Kate refers to herself as "changed", as she sits on the couch all by herself. Jon and Kate's divorce is a family tragedy indeed, all for $75,000 an episode and some free vacation travels.

After reading all of the articles on Jon & Kate ... I agree with the idea of turning off the cameras...for as much as I enjoy watching the kids ... we all need a break ... so their hiatus is coming at a great time. Jon, in my opinion is still an ass.
