Jon Gosselin Selling BMW in Effort to Get Needed Cash to Pay Child Support

Is Jon's Ship Sinking Fast or is He Already in a Canoe with No Paddle?

It's no secret to the world that Kate and Jon Gosselin's marriage is a done deal. However, the collateral damage left behind is the fact that 8 children still need to be supported. This takes money and lots of it.

According to Huffington Post, Jon Gosselin is responsible for paying a whopping $22,000 per month in child support to his ex-wife Kate Gosselin. Unfortunately for Jon, he is a man, who at the moment, is without a job or any immediate career plan. He fully admits that he does not have the funds to pay this amount in child support. The financial pressure is mounting for Jon Gosselin, who is looking every which way to get some needed cash.

Did Jon and Kate Gosselin fully grasp the concept of just how much money it takes to raise 8 children?

While Jon and Kate were still married, the financial ship was sailing along just fine as they shared a home and a television show, which helped fund their living expenses and provided a lifestyle that would be very difficult to maintain with "regular" jobs. However, Jon and Kate Gosselin's marriage was not sailing along just fine and Jon wanted out.

Clearly not anticipating the financial strain he would endure after going out on his own, Jon Gosselin is now scrambling to get some positive cash flow.

It goes without saying that having 8 children is a major responsibility and while having nice toys is well...nice, it does not feed and clothe 8 children. Cash-strapped Jon Gosselin has now decided to sell his BMW, as reported by US Magazine.

Maybe Jon should have thought of child support issues before purchasing a used BMW last year for $30,000, which is more than an annual salary, for many people. Even if Jon Gosselin manages to sell his BMW and makes back what he spent for it, this would not even cover more than 1 month of child support, at the most.

Does Jon Gosselin have a new, rich girlfriend?

Both Huffington Post and US Magazine have also reported that Jon Gosselin now has a new and rich love interest. It is not clear at this time what role this alleged rich girlfriend will play, if any, in regards to Jon's cash-flow problems.

Hopefully, for the sake of both himself and his very large family, Jon Gosselin will get himself together and find a way to make a healthy income doing something productive and enjoyable, without relying on alleged rich girlfiends to fund him.

    Wow,

He is up a sh*t creek without a paddle. It is definitely cheaper to keep her especially if she has had 8 kids.

This would be funny if it were not so sad. Certainly Jon Gosselin has consistently exercised poor judgment throughout the last couple of years in his marriage. Not only has he demonstrated totally amoral behaviors, he has publically lashed out attacking Kate repeatedly, flagrantly lying at every turn, and trying to be as obstructionistic as possible to Kate's efforts to keep the financial ball rolling for the family. His latest antic, filing for custody is an obviously blatant attempt to skinny out of child support and to get his hands on more money. One can only hope he continues on this downward spiral...he has earned every right to each bad thing that comes to his miserable life. "His" BMW came from the earnings generated by his children...he presented a consistently whinny, pouting, and disagreeable presence both on the show and during interviews. Why he believes he is entitled to anything other than scorn is a mystery.

Too bad they didn't invest the money they made from their tv show. Hope he can find a job and support his kids.

The only reason the pathological liar filed for custody was he was hoping Kate would then be paying him to support the kids so he could still sit on his lazy a$$ and keep playing with other
women (you really think he would spend the money of the kids?).........now any judge would see thru that as did the public, and as the judges have seen from the getgo in all the cases against him! ...... he once again makes a fool of himself (the pathological liar thing)by saying he did not approve the filings!! Let alone the fact that the DWTS job was a temp job for Kate. Now they are saying she is not spending time with the kids but tanning etc....oops fact checker, he was with the kids , so she could not be with them during his visitation time with them... Now media is trashing Kate for doing post DWTS interviews that are part of the contract with DWTS and for her inability to dance. She took the job as an income , she knew she was not a dancer! How many of you would publically be willing to do

He needs to take his case back to court and have the amount re-assessed. He's not working and they'll drop the amount. Kate can take him back to court when he gets a job to have it raised again. However, as far as is known, he's still living in that million-dollar penthouse, right? Seems that Jon is milking the sympathy angle on this issue when he could at least alleviate some of the burden by doing common sense things...

Wow. Wonder what type of job he's going to be able to find to cover child support with that huge sum of money? Great update on what's up with this couple.

$22K per month in child support? Ridiculous!! Yes, both parents should support their children. But not at that ridiculous rate! Does anyone really believe that it takes $22K per month to pay one parent's half of the financial needs of 8 children? Unbelievable!
