Jon Huntsman was born in 1937 in Blackfoot, Idaho. Mr. Huntsman is, according to Forbes 400, the 47th richest man alive.

Even though Huntsman grew up in poverty he has gone on to make a very lavish living for himself. He went to the University of Pennsylavania and on to the Wharton School where he majored in business.

In 1971 he opened his first business, Huntsman Container. In 1983 he founded Huntsman Chemical, a multi-billion dollar corporation. In 2007 Huntsman co-founded Huntsman Gay Global Capital.

Jon Huntsman has been married to his wife Karen for almost 50 years. Together they have nine children and over 70 grandchildren. Their oldes son, Jon Jr. was elected to Governor of Utah in 2004 and later became Ambassador to China.

Huntsman Sr. has also written and published a book called "Winners Never Cheat: Everyday Values We Learned as Children (But May Have Forgotten)" in 2005. It is about the moral lessons he learned throughout his life.

The Huntsman Cancer Institute is located on the campus of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. The institute was started with a $100 million grant from its founder Jon Huntsman Sr. Since then Huntsman has donated more than $250 million of his own personal money to the institute.
