Jon and Kate Special Announcement to Be Divorce News?

TLC will have another ratings hit on next Monday's Jon and Kate PLUS 8 episode. The couple's relationship drama has intensified, and the internet buzz suggest that the Gosselin's will announce their official decision to divorce. One hour episode will air on Monday, with Kate's promo voiceover stating that Jon and Kate have "made some life-changing decisions." Jon and Kate's decision to divorce comes as no surprise to fans, especially after the tabloids have intensified and Jon's public betrayal of Kate has drawn even more criticism.

Jon and Kate PLUS Eight: Special Announcement Planned
In the one hour episode of Jon and Kate PLUS Eight, a special announcement is planned that TLC has already started to promote. Videos of the upcoming episode sneak peak have hit the internet, with Kate doing voiceovers and the couple clearly shown doing activities separately.

Jon and Kate Marriage Troubles are Ratings Gold
TLC has seen some of its best viewership ratings due to Jon and Kate Gosselin's publicized marriage troubles, Jon's affair and the couple's separate vacations. Tabloids have been filled with Jon's vacations with his mistress, as well as Kate spending time with kids with Jon nowhere in sight. Viewers have been intrigued and waiting for "what will happen next" with Jon and Kate, and how it will impact all of their eight children. Jon has taken most blame for couple's troubles, and has been seen multiple times enjoying the company of other women who are not Kate. Kate has enjoyed her share of scrutiny, with the media calling her "mean" and even reporting that she recently publicly spanked one of their children, Leah.

What lead to Jon and Kate's separation and upcoming divorce?
The couple has had their share of tabloid stories, and media light. Jon has been photographed multiple times partying with women, specifically Deanna Hummel, who is Jon's reported mistress. With the cheating rumors escalating, the couple has been taping episodes separately and sometimes putting on a front for their cameras. After all, Jon and Kate PLUS Eight is the family's bread and butter, with reported $75,000 per episode the family makes.

Kate filmed a recent episode of the popular reality show without Jon, on her birthday. Jon was shown on the episode as helping out handicapped kids to ski. However, the tabloids showed a different side of Jon, who was on vacation in Utah with his mistress on Kate's birthday. The couple's 10th wedding anniversary came and went recently as well, with the couple not spending time together or being filmed for a wedding anniversary episode. All of this, and more, suggests that the couple has long been over and are just waiting for the official divorce announcement to come out. That is of course, once they have gotten the chance to milk TLC and show viewers for all that they can.

How will Jon and Kate's divorce affect their children?
The children have reportedly been spending time mostly with Kate, with Jon spending limited time to film episodes only. Despite their marriage troubles, Gosselin's still have a contract and an obligation to TLC.
It is unclear as to how much their children know, or what has been told to them. Divorce is never easy, but Gosselin's kids are different as there is a camera pointed in their face at all times.

Should Jon and Kate stop filming Jon and Kate PLUS Eight?
TLC has reportedly discussed the idea of putting the show in a different direction, and perhaps concentrating filming on the kids only in order to avoid Jon and Kate marriage drama. It is unclear if the show will stop taping, or if TLC will turn it into a spin-off of Jon and Kate parenting children separately.

While Jon and Kate Gosselin have enjoyed money, fame and freebies for years, the show popularity has taken an ugly turn. The stress of taping, media and fame have torn the family apart. The money may seem nice, but perhaps they should consider putting their kids first and living lives privately from now on.

This is so sad but reality. I'm sure we don't see the " reality " in their lives as much as we think. But, reality of married life when the man doesnt or caint for what ever reason take headship of his home. Kate reminds me of a control freak and wheh the man is to be the head and the woman takes his place then its like having a two headed monster . Sad I think during the next season of kates life what ever it may be she will have to learn to let go and know that she can not control everything and everyone. People expecially little ones have a right to be who god created them to be and profection is just a cause for rebellion and destruction. Money can destroy you and control you but I have a feeling kates personality has always been a didctator. Its sad because you cant really have peace and enjoy life when your always trying to change everyobe around you. And as for any marriage how can you enjoy a loving intimate friendship in marriage when its full of critical tension. Jon always h

Well-written article. It seems as though the media helps them along with this. Janet

I honestly think the reality tv show contributed to their divorce. It has happened before with other families. It is hard enough to handle marriage without a camera revealing every flaw - even if they wanted to forgive, forget and move on..well, they have all those viewers talking about their every move.

Such a terrible situation for these kids!!

Liars- they promised the children during their renewal of their wedding vows that they would always be together and never get a divorce. I guess you'll say anything to get a free vacation to Hawaii. If they were really the Christians they say they are, they would get some Christian marriage counseling and turn off the cameras.

finally a decision on what to do by the family instead of the station.

I don't think they are going to announce a divorce. Didn't we hear that they were filming counseling sessions? I think TLC is blowing all this up because the ratings have dropped so dramatically since the season premier. What better way to get people to tune in once again - make them think they're going to see some juicy divorce action. I think the "Big Announcement" is going to be that they are seeing a marriage/family counselor.

It's the kids who will pay for this. It always is.

:( Divorce is ahrd enough without being scrutinized by millions of Americans...
