Jon & Kate Plus 8, Back Together for the Fourth of July

People.com reported that the stars of the hit reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, Jon and Kate Gosselin, were able to put the difficulties in their relationship behind them for the Fourth of July holiday.

Before the explosive series finale, which had over 10.6 million viewers, in which Jon and Kate announced they had separated and would be getting divorced, the Gosselins had already committed to spending the fourth of July holiday together with their children.

According to a recent article ran by People Magazine, Kate is quoted as saying, "Jon pointed to the July 4 holiday and said, 'What are we going to do about that?'" While Kate said "I absolutely cannot imagine not spending every single holiday with my kids. I don't care what it takes. I will be there."

While their relationship has been under intense scrutiny for months, from both tabloid and other media outlets, they were able to hold together in order to help the children through this first holiday as a divided family. It has been speculated that both Jon and Kate have been romantically involved with other people for months.

Jon and Kate have agreed that they would spend equal time with their children at the house they moved into last year, which cost the couple $1.1 million. The plan is that each parent will have other living arrangements, but when it is each individual parents turn for custody they will stay at the house with the kids. This will help keep the children from being uprooted every time there is a switch in custody.

It is good to see the couple working together, to try and keep all eight children's lives as close to normal as possible. But, with the latest rumors circulating, that Jon's mistress the 23 year old Deanna Hummel will be joining the cast for next seasons Jon& Kate Plus 8, one wonders if things could ever feel normal to the Gosselins children again.

One spokesperson from TLC said that, "there were "no plans to use her" in future episodes. But, an unknown source on Foxnews.com stated, "when filming does resume, [the show is currently in hiatus until August 3] the News [source] claims the show will feature Hummel because "she's a part of Jon's life." Still, her role will be minor, with the show instead focusing primarily on how Jon and Kate are raising their family separately, the source said."
