Jon & Kate Plus 8: Four Good Things About Kate
Jon & Kate Plus 8 frequently shows Kate throwing fits, and insulting her husband. Having multiples is no excuse for screaming at your husband just because he swats a fly on the kitchen counter.
In life, you're either temper tantrum-prone, or you're not.
There are women raising 15 kids who don't behave this way. And there are women with only one child who DO act this way. It's not about the quantity of kids. It's about emotional maturity. But Jon & Kate Plus 8 also shows a better side to Kate.
Online forums are filled with mothers who steadfastly watch Jon & Kate Plus 8, yet who agree that Kate needs to temper down. But what about Kate's good points?
Kate explained that she tries to feed her kids as much organic food as possible, as what the budget will allow. (What budget? Don't they get paid a small fortune for their TV series?). Kate also said she prepares her family's meals from scratch, and this is so much healthier than buying highly processed foods. The sextuplets and twins, as a result, get limited sugar and limited additives.
Weight management
It's nice to see a mother of sextuplets who is practicing weight management. Kate watches what she eats and exercises. Yes, a plastic surgeon gave her a tummy tuck, but she looked pretty decent before the tummy tuck as far as body weight. Kate isn't thin, but she's not heavy enough to be slowed down, either. Being fit means more energy, which carries over to raising eight kids. (Of course, in Kate's case, some of this energy goes towards the hysterics)
Neat
Jon & Kate Plus 8 depicts Kate as a compulsive fanatical neat freak. But at least there aren't toys strewn everywhere. My brother has only one child, and there are toys all over the living room, kitchen floor and hallway. Kate's house will never be a pigsty. But OCD can also harm those who live with the OCD person. OCD can be controlled, and at least Kate admits she has OCD.
Sports
Kate realizes the value of introducing sports to her kids at an early age, such as skiing and ice skating. Sports build character and discipline.
Remember, certain behaviors should never be excused just because the perpetrator has eight kids or multiples. I'm sure Kate was the same way before she got pregnant with the sextuplets. We all know women who are like this. How many of them have multiples or lots of young kids? Men can be brow-beaters as well. Again, how many have sextuplets?
There are mothers who have it worse than Kate: 1) More kids, 2) Some kids with handicaps, and 3) Little money. Anyone who keeps up with The Learning Channel knows this; there have been airings of a couple who have 19 kids ! The mother does not act like Kate.
Kate actually has it great: She has trustworthy help, a supportive family, and all the money she's collecting from being on TV. Okay, if you think money doesn't buy happiness, it DOES buy college tuition for eight kids !

Post a CommentI have to say everyone loves to judge this family, esp. Kate. I dare say anyone who has made such rude comments strives to live such the perfect life as you all expect of this family. Sure Kate is a little neurotic but what woman isn't? You deal with it and move on, it's who you are. And the people who really love you do the same. When money comes in the door everyone changes a little. And why not, any parent would take advantage of the opportunities it provides; for herself and for her kids. Kate and Jon have made decisions they will have to live with, as will their kids. But it is THEIR life and THEIR decisions. They will reap the benefits and pay the price, as will we all for our decisions. Take a look at the person staring back at you in the mirror and if you see a flawless person then you can continue to berate others. God Bless!

I agree with Janice M .In the beginning Jon went along with what Kate wanted. But after he saw how Kate was obsessed with the money and free stuff they were getting he wanted out. But we all know by watching the show Kate wears the pants in the family. Jon said after the twins were born he did not want anymore kids, but Kate did. Jon should have put his foot down then but he didn't and now a monster has been created. Jon, I think is the better parent because he likes to keep them physically challenged and thinks its ok for his kids to get dirty. I grew up very poor and wouldn't trade my life for theres because I know how to love and respect my family and would never choose to not share with my family if I ever came into money.
I have watched the TV show from the beginning and as much as I haat to admit it I have watch it deteriate from Kate's abuse of her husband. What man will live a live like that no matter how many kids or how much money. You could tell how Joh's attitude would change toward her from episode to episode. My fear is for the children and I think Jon should get them and the house and money. Kate needs some mental help of some kind.
I only watched the show a short while because I did not like the way she talked down to him. NOT nice.
Good for them. They are doing what they have to provide their family with the best posible life and future. Stop the petty critism, it is gettting old.
Im sorry Michelle it is jelousy and not concern. Jodi only spoke out after she couldnt get money out of TLC. And most people are critizizing that Kate dresses her children in matching outfits, that she wants them clean, and likes to feed them organic food when ever posible. If the kids would be dressed in drags, dirty, would that make you happy? Those kids are clean, happy and healthy and it shows. Kate is an organized, no none-sense woman, good for her.
You people really need to go out and find some real news to report. Kate does not throw fits. The person that screams the laudest in that family is Jon. The dynamics of Jon and Kate's marriage are their own. And they are doing right by their children to provide them with the best possible life that they can.
So back off, you jelous vendictive petty people.
Critizizing someone for feeding their children the most organic food that they can, dressing the children in matching outfits, wanting to have her children clean, and finding a job that actually allows her to get a big house so that the children can have space to explore, and room to themselves or to run around and have fun, plus allowing them incredible vacations and experiences other wise would be but a dream, is the best they could have done.
Good for them. I hope they can ignore all the people that in order not to deal with their own problems and deal with their pathetic little lives have turn an incesive attack on
