Jon and Kate Plus 8: What Has Fame and Poor Judgment Done for Them?

Four seasons of the TLC reality series, Jon and Kate Plus 8, have chronicled the everyday lives of the Gosselin family. The interest in the family, who had twins and then decided to try for just one more child but ended up with six more, has been incredible. Ratings for Jon and Kate Plus 8 helped the cable station TLC immensely and provided Jon and Kate with financial stability. Most people would consider this to be a "win win" situation-or so it would seem. Recently, Jon Gosselin has stated that their fame has cost them their privacy and ability to live their lives any other way than as Jon and Kate Plus 8. He also responded to two possibly inappropriate situations as poor judgment on his part that has caused a strain in the couple's personal relationship.

Average people can dream of landing their own reality show and all of the opportunities that come along with that kind of good fortune. Many people think that they would handle fame no matter the personal cost to them or their family. It's hard to say for sure until it happens to you though. The Gosselin's were given an incredible opportunity and it seemed to be working for them until recently.

Jon Gosselin-dad of eight children-seems to want to revert to an ordinary average guy. He says that he just wants to be Jon rather than Jon of Jon and Kate Plus 8. LinkHere On the show he has mentioned not having time together with his wife, Kate. He has mentioned that Kate use to have long blonde hair-which she has worn in a short hairstyle for quite some time-at least since the octuplets came along. He seems to yearn for Kate's younger days when she had long blonde hair and a pre-pregnancy body! Jon commented recently that he had imagined himself being like 54 and marrying a nineteen year old.

These kinds of comments and expectations might explain the mentality of a grown man with eight children who recently has been showing signs of indiscretion.LinkHere Earlier in the year, Jon was photographed with college girls after a night of partying at a bar during a visit to his mother's. This week, Jon was photographed with another young (blonde) girl in his Nissan Nismo while leaving Legends Lounge.

Although Jon has responded to allegations of him cheating on Kate as him just hanging out with friends and having his picture taken with fans, it does seem unlikely. One picture of him partying with college girls might be overlooked and accepted as him being nice to some fans. It has been said that Jon has been seen out on the town several times, talking about divorce, kissing young girls, and dirty dancing. Jon has denied any kind of cheating on his wife and Kate has yet to make any public statements. The last incident makes it harder to believe that Jon is spending innocent time with friends-of the opposite sex that are much younger than he-when Kate isn't around!

This week's friendly outing seems like more than Jon is letting on. He supposedly arrived at Legends Lounge at 11p.m to talk with the owner. At 2 a.m., he and a young blonde were seen exiting a back entrance. Witnesses described Jon as barely able to walk when he left the nightclub. Jon was allegedly not wearing his wedding band, and referring to his "friend" as "Babe". Witnesses said that the two exited the nightclub together and when Jon spotted Paparazzi he told "Babe" to hurry up and get in the car. They were then seen speeding away without turning the car's headlights on.

It is unknown if the girl's name is Babe or if was a term of endearment used by Jon. He explained that he had gone to the club to talk to the owner and that his friend wanted to see his new car. He said that he was letting the friend drive his car to her car-no one has said that they were seen going to another car, just that they sped away. He responded by saying that he has both male and female friends and that his being on television isn't going to change that. He also said that maybe it showed bad judgment on his part.

Showing bad judgment seems like an excuse that a teenager might use when trying to get out of trouble. One incident might be described as showing bad judgment but this is becoming a habitual problem. The fifth season of Jon and Kate Plus 8 is scheduled to air later this month, fans will be tuning in to see if Jon can handle any more fame and if his bad judgment calls affect Jon and Kate Plus 8.
