Jon and Kate Plus 8: Let's Stop Exploiting the Children
The Jon and Kate Plus 8 Children Need to Be Allowed Normal Lives Without Cameras
These two "parents" on Jon and Kate Plus 8, Jon and Kate, are having serious marital problems. This is not new. Jon and Kate have obviously had problems for years. And over ten million of us are tuning in to watch the demise of Jon and Kate Plus 8. It's the "Plus 8" that has me concerned.
Can we please think about the eight children for a while? While it may seem fascinating to watch Kate in a bikini strutting around with her new and free tummy tuck , and to watch Jon on a skiing vacation supposedly with a 23 year old teacher with him. It is the "Plus 8" that is going to get hurt out of the Jon and Kate Plus 8 debacle.
As we all now know the Pennsylvania Department of Labor has opened an investigation into whether or not there is compliance with the child labor laws on Jon & Kate Plus 8. Since Jon and Kate Plus 8 is a reality based TV series and the kids are just living their lives is that really work?
According to a TLC rep : "TLC fully complies with all applicable laws and regulations. Jon and Kate + 8 is no exception. For an extended period of time, we have been engaged in cooperative discussions and supplied all requested information to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor."
My question is: Why does it matter? The Jon and Kate Plus 8 kids are being used no matter what. Whether the state of Pennsylvania decrees that they are, or are not, in compliance with child labor laws, these children are being grossly exploited. And for what? So Kate can have her tummy tuck and John can go on a ski vacation with another woman?
These Jon and Kate Plus 8 children need love, stability, guidance and Mommy and Daddy. Just like all other children. They do not need television cameras at their birthday parties, at bedtime and on their vacations.
Reports tell us that the family is receiving between $75,000 and $80,000 per Jon and Kate Plus 8 episode. Is it really worth it if it is harming the lives of the eight children? Shouldn't the children's emotional needs be put first in the minds of the parents? If Jon and Kate really love their children then get regular jobs and help your children lead normal lives.

kate and jon love their kids as their kids love them. and the camera crew are like the kids family. leah and hannah both called the producer aunty jenney b4. the camera crew helps them. i think every1 should frankly shut up and let them liv THEIR lives and if they want or need the tv show then heck yes let them do it. my point is no one should b saying anything about these good people as i have said b4 jon has just lost his way and wont come back. kate loves the old jon but was tired of holding on and it is as simple as that. kate might have been hard on jon but she had 2 b she would hav lost it and ended up in a white building next door. so LEAVE THEM ALONE. idc (i dont care) if it gets you money 2 go buy designer purses. kate does what she does so she can feed her children. jon does tries to do what he does to provide. the money is just something they need. kate has been to the ronald mcdonald house and donated a lot of money and cooked for them. they
i think that Kate is still a very good person and i admire her for it and anyone who denies it should try being in her shoes for six minutes. i want the old jon back 2 but he long gone and stupid for leaving kat but he is not a stupid person and kate is my role model. Kate gets just as much crap as octomom and octomom deserves it but kate doesn't she has kept it all together and puts her kids b4 anything and when i grow up i want to b like her.
I cannot believe that this country is so full of mindless morons, that two people who apparently are attempting to single handedly over populate the U.S, with no apparent talents, are paid 75,000 per episode to exploit their offspring. MAKE IT STOP! People, if you need a worthy cause, support a military family, we have boys dying in foreign countries every day! Help a single mother, working 2 jobs to support her "rational" number of kids.Give your money and time to worthy charities & let's finally make these two support themselves & pay for the decisions they made, on their own. Let's kick them back into the obscurity from whence they came & get these morons off my t.v. screen & out of the press! They have done nothing worthy of the attention & money they have been littered with & their are many GOOD CHRISTIAN PEOPLE, doing great works every day who do deserve a little of what J&K have done nothing to earn! Kate is a phony.. she started out pretty humble and appreciative of everything she was given to her..now she just expects it. She has 8 kids? soo the duggars have 18 and 1 grandkid on the way, but they have remained the same! Michelle didnt go out and get a tummy tuck, a face lift and whatever.. i felt for kate for awhile. but the more i watch her.. Jon deserves to move on.
I think Kate is trying to make as much money as possible. She has to realize that it will be impossible for her to return to her profession anytime soon. She NEEDS the show to continue as Jon is not and never has been the greatest provider.
Yes, the children are being used but it is hardly child abuse. They will be happy later on when Mom has enough money to pay for their life styles. I have a feeling that Jon is going to be out of the picture pretty soon - except for every other weekend.
LB: I protect my children and don't put them in situations that they can't possibly handle. Therefore there is nothing in my personal life that people need to know about. That is why it is personal. That is the point of the article. These children need their privacy and the love of their parents. They do not need tv cameras.
This article is nothing more than an attempt by the author to create more person buzz for her profession, than it is to generally show concern for the children of the Gosselin family! Grow up and sweep your own porch. I wonder what's happening in your personal life people need to know about?!?
