Jon and Kate: Is the Tide Turning for Kate Gosselin?

Kate Gosselin Continues to Take Unfair Pounding in the Media

Okay, so, I've never actually been a Kate Gosselin hater. But, I've certainly taken note of her controlling ways and never have they been more apparent than since she has been on Dancing with the Stars. I haven't watched the show, but I have caught a few of her dance routines here and there and well, let's just say Kate's continued survival on the show is clearly not due to her dancing prowess. Though Kate would even say that herself.

Over the past couple of years the Gosselins have been the pair America has loved to hate. In the beginning, it was Kate who took the public beating as she was seen as the domineering wench who hen-pecked her poor husband, Jon. I can't say I numbered myself among them however, as I consistently saw Jon as he has actually turned out to be.........a wee bit slow out of the gate.

Though Jon's behavior has done nothing but make him the laughing stock of the country, it doesn't seem to be deterring him from engaging in more behavior that only serves to further convince America that he's one pathetic dude. To his credit, Kate has said in the past that Jon's frat-boy-gone-wild behavior is not the "Jon that she knows" and with her recent book that is out I just Want You to Know which she has written to her children, she takes no pot shots at Jon whatsoever. When asked about her lack of Jon bashing in her book, because let's face it, no one would hold it against her if she did, Kate's response has been, "It's not my job to cloud my children's view of their father" Yeah. No kidding. Jon has that department all sewn up.

None of this taking the high road has actually paid off for Kate it seems. At least not yet. But, as she continues to take a pounding by disgruntled family members who clearly have an axe to grind and are likely looking for some dirty money, along with Jon's pathetic lawsuit against her claiming she's an "absentee parent" (oh, please), I predict the tide of public opinion will soon be turning for Kate Gosselin.

Yes, she's likely still got a bit of that dominating shrew well encoded into her DNA, because a passive wall-flower, she is not. But, she's holding her head high and she's doing everything she can to make a living and provide for her children. You know, the way most responsible parents do, Jon?

I don't think Kate Gosselin deserves the hammering she is taking and I also don't think I'm alone in my views if her staying power on DWTS is any evidence. People are rallying for Kate and I wouldn't be surprised if she takes home the big one on the show. And really, at this point? I'm actually hoping she does.

Sign me up for team Kate.

I agree Melanie, it is sad how it all ended up. Those little kids are so wonderful and sweet. but, I really admire Kate for the gumption she has through it all. I suspect they will turn out fine if she has anything to do with it. thanks for commenting.

I really enjoyed their show in the early days, and yes, it is sad to see how it's all ended up.

Hey Malina, I've only seen a little bit of their show. It was actually pretty good. But, unfortunately, well, now we know where they are. It's a sad commentary on their life, but I'm pulling for Kate. I suspect many others are too. Thanks for commenting.

Believe it or not, I have never watched even one episode of the Kate and Jon show or anything regarding the two. Great writeup!
