Jon Stewart mocks Glenn Beck all the time, but Beck actually was on the sidelines this week, as he had to have his appendix taken out. Many of Beck's enemies still likely preferred to kick him while he was down, but they couldn't have done it like Jon Stewart did.
Stewart went on one of the more extended routines he's ever done on The Daily Show, waiting until the usually short second act to channel Beck. The FOX News host has already inspired countless jokes over his emotional weeping, and his conspiracy theories against Obama and his people. So Jon Stewart used the same tactics to accuse Glenn Beck's internal organs of great evil.
The spoof involved a chalkboard, Hitler analogies, the announcement of the "11/3 Project" and a few obligatory crying jags. Picking on Glenn Beck to this extent, after he had appendicitis, certainly could have gone wrong in a number of ways - and likely did go wrong in the eyes of Beck fans. But Beck faced worse fire before he got checked into the hospital.
Keith Olbermann carried on his war against Beck on Tuesday, by again naming him the Worst Person In The World. This time, he told Beck and the 9/12 Project to "Go to hell" for exploiting 9/11 in their anti-health care arguments. It is lucky that Beck got his appendix taken out now, before it could be inflamed further by the likes of Olbermann and Stewart.
Beck will be back on the air soon to give Olbermann and Stewart new fodder to attack him for. But Jon Stewart didn't need new fodder to ape Glenn Beck last night, since all of the old stuff gave him about eight minutes to kill and cry over.

Post a CommentYes, poor Glenn, labeling Americans who care about social justice "a cancer." He should know. Thank God for the cool voice of reason. Speaking of which, he did it again, even better, IMHO: http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-march-18-2010/conservative-libertarian
Poor, poor, Glen Beck. Hopefully he wasn't too torn up over this unprovoked Stewart rant. I can picture it now, Beck sitting alone in his 5 million dollar home weeping as "eltists" like Stewart mock him. Stewart claims to be a Jew because, as Glen and I both know, he participated in the holocaust with Nazi Germany. I wonder why I am the only one with the guts to say this.
I am a huge beck fan and thought it was funny. Jon S. is a good comedian.
I think this is the single funniest thing I've ever seen on The Daily Show, I couldn't stop laughing.
The Glenn Beck spoof was brilliant! I am not a Jon Stewart fan but the impressions were spot on and so well-executed, that I could actually see Glenn Beck. Very talented.
