Jon Stewart: President Obama Can't Take a Joke Either (Video)

It's no secret to those who have watched the President the last two years that he gets a wee bit prickly if criticized. Some might even say downright defensive. It is one of the President's less, shall we say, presidential qualities.

But, apparently, he can't take a joke either. President Obama appeared on the Jon Stewart show last night, (because, Comedy Central is the most hard-hitting news outlet these days) and seemed to be his usual self, you know, defensive, and more than a tad uncomfortable.

But, then, if you can't take the heat from Jon Stewart, of all people, then it makes perfect sense as to why he won't show up on Fox News anywhere.

Personally, I find President Obama charming, handsome and charismatic. However, this does not necessarily make a good president. It doesn't hurt, mind you, but, it doesn't guarantee success, that's for sure.

Yet, he always comes off as someone who would rather be anywhere but dealing with direct questions on the decisions he is making and the direction he has attempted to drag this country. I say drag, because, thankfully, he's had a huge amount of resistance.

While I certainly understand that President Obama wants to speak well of his agenda, it might not hurt his case if he could rise above what almost always seems to be a childish retort that sounds something like, "I know you are, but what am I?"

I mean, I know the job of president, outside of motherhood, mind you, is the hardest job in the world. But, at least no one has thrown any shoes at him, you know? And wouldn't it speak well of him if he could actually face some serious questioning from serious journalists about his decisions and the current state of affairs of his presidency? I realize he hates Fox News, but, Chris Wallace is about as straight up a journalist as you're going to get. Yet, the President won't go anywhere near there.

It's all rather unfortunate, because it makes him appear weak, unsure of himself and at other times, downright petty.

Well, I suppose it depends on the lens through which one looks at the circumstances. While it is not my experience, I can understand why black Americans feel President Obama is being attacked because of his race. But, I can assure you, Malina, my criticisms of President Obama have NOTHING to do with the color of his skin. In fact, you've probably heard the stat quoted over and over again - it was not just the black vote that put President Obama in office. Millions and millions of white Americans voted for him because they BELIEVED him and the message he was preaching. Unfortunately, he has not delivered and it has nothing to do with his race. It has everything to do with his beliefs and that the large part of America does NOT want to do down that road with him. Really, that is the story from 8 out of 10 Americans.

I don't know of any 'president' who has not gotten 'a wee bit prickly' when criticized. President Obama has taken well over and above what most have it seems and rather than even go 'there', most of us know why. The Republican party has used this issue to substantiate their attempt to regain control.
