Jones Vs. Shogun Fight Result

UFC 128 is in the books and the Jones vs. Shogun fight results are out.

The UFC now has a brand new UFC light heavyweight champ as the Brazilian succumbed to a 3rd-round TKO at the hands of the Endicott, NY product in Newark, New Jersey.

Shogun came in with a record of 19-4 and much more experience fighting in PRIDE in Japan but Jones' length, wrestling, and explosiveness were too much for him to handle.

It was a varied assault and strong positioning that gave Jones the edge against PRIDE's last great hero; especially considering Mirko Cro Cop Filopovic got KO'd earlier in the night as well.

The 3rd-round TKO from Jones was finished with a left body hook after he backed Shogun up near the cage.

Jones dominated the fight and the Jones vs. Shogun result was not a surprise to many who follow the UFC and believed that it was only a matter of time until Jones held the "strap" as Rashad Evans called it.

Speaking of Evans, he came into the Octagon wearing a suit and challenged Jones. The next fight will be between the two for the title; Evans was originally scheduled to fight Rua for the title 'til an injury struck.

Who will win between the two friends?

We'll have to wait a few months to see.

For now, Jones will reign supreme as the youngest light heavyweight champ in UFC history.

Bones Jones takes home the win in the result against Shogun Rua at UFC 128 for the title.
