Joomla: The Content Management System Website

Do you know what Joomla is? Actually Joomla is quite popular nowadays. It is a free web based content management system, as known as CMS. It is also known as a type of open source web software based on CMS concept. From the technical aspect, it is based on Mambo. Anyway, it has been said that Joomla is quite close to Mambo as it was developed later on, and as you can see the code is clearer. The database is not as extensive as it is for the original Mambo version, and people do not need to work on it too much. Although it is newer to most of the webmasters, but more people are switching to it now so maybe it will be here for the long run.

It is great to use Joomla as your CMS based website because you can update most of your website contents without needing to know any of the knowledge of web design, website coding and guess what, you can do it all on the internet. Joomla is open sourced software, which means that it has been designed by the experts and anybody can alter the source code coding or re-coding it to suit their needs and let others use the new add-ons.

A question might arise that is why a person or group would design useful CMS software that is free for anyone to use and can download it freely without paying a cent. How about money or profits? Do they like people changing their web coding and reprogram it?
People who design and distribute Open Source Software do like that for many reasons, but it's truly not for money. Because of this, Open Source Software is usually better than any paid or commercial software as programmers and developers want to put their best effort on the products they produce. Also, as just anyone can re-code and reprogramming it, there is usually a huge webmasters and community of people who know the program and can give a helping hand on it.

Any drawbacks of software can be overcome with Open Source Software. Usually software's patch (add-ons) is developed to deal with any 'imperfectness' of a software. Such as security flaw, software's operating condition and so on. These add-ons are developed by normal users so they're usually what people always want and it is available for free too.

If you want to make a difference by having a Joomla's template (premium template design) or design which is different with others, you can buy it from some of Joomla's developers and designers which are selling premium template design for quite reasonable price.
