Joran Van Der Sloot Captured by Authorites in Chile, Will Be Extradited to Peru

Van Der Sloot Will Be Returned to Peru for Investigation of Murder

Kathrine Lloyd
SANTIAGO, Chile - Chilean police have taken Joran van der Sloot into custody for investigation into his connection with the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez in Peru. Van der Sloot, was questioned in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba. Holloway was last seen with Joran van der Sloot the night she disappeared without a trace in Aruba. Authorities in Aruba detained van der Sloot multiple times for questioning but were never able to charge him with a crime due to a lack of evidence. In spite of numerous large-scale searches, Natalee Holloway has never been found.

By contrast, the case in Peru is rich with forensic evidence and there is a body. In addition to the evidence collected at the crime scene in Peru, a hotel employee and guest both witnessed Joran van der Sloot entering his hotel room accompanied by Stephany Flores Ramirez the last time she was seen alive.

This murder occurred exactly 5 years to the date of Natalee Holloway's disappearance in Aruba!

In a strange twist of events, this murder occurred exactly five years to the day of Natalee Holloway's May 30, 2005 disappearance while on a school trip in Aruba. Authorities in Aruba have maintained that Joran van der Sloot remains the prime suspect in Natalee Holloway's disappearance in spite of the fact that they have never been able to charge him with the crime. Two years ago, an undercover television crime reporter caught Joran van der Sloot on hidden camera confessing to disposing of Natalee Holloway's body. In spite of the taped confession, authorities in Aruba were unable to substantiate van der Sloot's story and dismissed it as unbelievable. On the video, van der Sloot claimed that Holloway collapsed on the beach and that he asked a friend to help him dump her body in the sea.

According to Peru's Justice Minister Octavio Salazar Miranda, arrangements had been made with Interpol to extradite Joran van der Sloot upon his capture.

Insane people -to me- should be treated no differently than anyone else. They shoot mad dogs, don't they? But the law says otherwise, and the law is -after all- the law.

Just my take but I think he is compelled to destructive acts. I'll be interested to see if he is found criminally insane.

I'd like to know more about his family and background. Has he got siblings, is his mother alive? etc.

Karma catches up with everyone eventually. Money won't buy him out of this one.

Maybe he'll get what he deserves this time. My husband filled me in on most of this story when he watched it on the news. It's unbelievable.
