Joran Van Der Sloot Confesses to Murdering Peruvian Stephany Flores

Van Der Sloot: 'She Intruded into My Private Life'

Kenzy England
Joran Van der Sloot has confessed to the murder of 21-year old Peruvian Stephany Flores whose body was found last week in his hotel room in Lima. According to CNN, Van der Sloot killed Flores because she used his laptop computer to look for information about him and his involvement in the disappearance of American Natalee Holloway.

Van der Sloot said, "I didn't mean to. She intruded into my private life." Van der Sloot added that Flores "had no right...I approached to her, she was scared, we quarreled and she tried to run away. I grabbed her by the neck and hit her."

Flores Murdered on Fifth Anniversary of Holloway's Disappearance in Aruba:
On May 30, five years to the day that 18-year old Natalee Holloway disappeared, Stephany Flores followed Joran Van der Sloot to his hotel room. The pair had met each other while playing poker. Four hours later, surveillance cameras show Joran leaving alone. Three days later, the young woman's body was found, neck broken, but Van der Sloot had already hotfooted it across the border to Chile.

Interpol issued an international arrest warrant for Van der Sloot and he was apprehended in Chile. Chilean authorities returned Van der Sloot to Peru last Friday where he was immediately processed before being flown to Lima.

Who Found Stephany Flores' Body?
An employee at the hotel used her key to enter Van der Sloot's hotel room after her knocking went unanswered. When she entered the room, she found Stephany Flores' body on the floor. The employee fled the room, alerting her supervisor and police to the discovery. According to CNN, Flores was dressed in a black t-shirt, red panties, and half-covered with a piece of white clothing.

Recanted Confessions:
Natalee Holloway's father, Dave Holloway, told Good Morning America today that search teams have assembled in Aruba on the chance that Peruvian authorities can get information about her disappearance in 2005 while on a graduation trip with her classmates.

"He's confessed to this one and I'd like for him to tell everyone what happened," Holloway said.

Regarding the Holloway case, Joran Van der Sloot has confessed no less than four times. In each instance, he has promptly recanted. Van der Sloot's stories have ranged from saying he (1) left Holloway on the beach alone, (2) he left her on the beach where she then walked back to her hotel room (3) she died and he dumped her body in the ocean, and (4) saying he dumped her body in an Arubian swamp.

The FBI currently has a warrant for Van der Sloot's arrest for allegedly extorting money from the Holloway family in exchange for information on the location of her remains in Aruba.

If Van der Sloot is convicted, he faces up to 35 years in prison since there is no death penalty in Peru.

This is a developing story and more information will be issued as it becomes available.

No delete is permanent on a computer.

My guess is that his laptop contained details on the exact location of Natalee's body in Aruba, and details about what actually happened and how he and his father disposed of the body. It may also have contained details of other crimes he committed and/or was planning in the future. Unfortunately there was time between the murder in Peru and the time he was apprehended to delete the evidence. But I believe the girl in Peru may have seen it is the reason he killed her. She knew too much at that point.

Ana Maria - I've wondered the same thing. Natalee Holloway's mother once said in an interview that in Aruba, he was known to drug and rape young women. It's very possible, as you know, that he could be a serial killer. I just hope he does the right thing by telling authorities where Natalee is so her family can have closure.

I wonder how many more young girls has he killed and nobody knows about them.

I suppose he considers snooping a justification for murder? I hope they fry him!

I just hope that some closure can be found for the Holloway family. Then that this creep gets his proper punishment. Good article.
