'Glee' star (and new solo act) Matthew Morrison will join 'American Idol' season 6 champ Jordin Sparks to headline the annual 4th of July celebration 'A Capitol Fourth,' which will air live on PBS at 8pm EST on Independence Day.

Both vocalists are opening acts for New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys on their co-headlining NKOTBSB summer tour, and their televised patriotic performances are set to go down on the West Lawn of the US Capitol building in Washington, D.C.

Sparks, 21, is busy recording her upcoming album and telling the world 'I Am Woman' with her newest single. In between 'Glee' seasons (the Fox hit returns for season 3 this fall), Morrison has been promoting his self-titled debut album.
For the PBS special, in addition to Morrison and Sparks, the bill will feature singers Josh Groban and Little Richard, and comic actor Steve Martin's banjo stylings. The broadcast will be hosted by Jimmy Smits, and will no doubt include spectacular fireworks. Happy 4th of July!
