Josephinum Academy Seeks Your Help

I had the opportunity to volunteer at The Josephinum Academy doing fund raising and clerical work.
The Josephinum Academy, located at 1501 North Oakley Boulevard in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood, is always looking for people to help out for a few hours when they can. Josephinum is an all-girl college preparatory school that helps prepare the students to graduate from college. There are a variety of different volunteer opportunities to consider at the school such as mentoring a senior student in their Capstone Mentors Program, tutoring and offering your special skills.

Although I didn't have any special skills to offer, I did enjoy helping out with event planning and helping my co-worker raise money during the holidays. I'm a nurse, so the next time I sign up to volunteer, I plan on asking if they have any volunteer nursing or first aid positions that I might be able to help with. Everyone at the school was so nice and the environment of the school seemed so peaceful and conducive to learning.

If you have any special skills or talents such as photography, marketing or if you are a wiz at finance, Josephinbum would love your help. In addition, if your forte is event planning, you could help coordinate fund raising events. In addition, if you are the athletic type, the school asks that you consider becoming a coach for one if their sports teams. I'm not sure what the requirements are for a coaching position, or if you need to be a certified teacher, but if you want to check it out, you can call the school.
