Josh Duhamel is Kicked Off a Plane -- Fergie's Prince Charming Hits the News Again

Josh Duhamel was kicked off a plane headed from New York to Kentucky for refusing to turn off his Blackberry, as reported at NY Daily News. Last year, at around this time, Duhamel was in the news when stripper Nicole Forrester claimed she slept with the married Duhamel. She then publicly apologized to singer Fergie, Duhamel's wife.

Why was it important for Duhamel to act like a grown up?

The security rule is in place and has been for a long time. Flight attendants tell passengers to turn off their cell phones. Josh Duhamel, on the other hand, who a passenger said acted "very rude" and who also was seen "taunting the attendant," refused. The plane was then turned around on the runway and sent back to the gate, where officers got on the plane and removed Duhamel. The entire incident further delayed the passengers who were already on a delayed flight.

As reported at Scienceline, The Federal Communications Commission "bans cell phones on planes to protect cell phone towers." In addition, The Federal Aviation Administration bans all electronic devices during takeoff and landing. As reported at Scienceline, the FAA says "cell phone interference could cause the pilot to lose contact with ground control or knock the plane off course."

"If it saves one crash every decade, it's worth doing," said retired NASA astronaut Jay Apt.

Fergie's Prince Charming was in the news last year, around this time

Remember that stripper Nicole Forrester? She was the woman who apologized publicly to Duhamel's wife, singer Fergie, after she claimed she had slept with the married Duhamel. Said Forrester, "I thought, 'Nobody's gonna find out. It's not gonna hurt anybody.'" Through it all, Fergie stood by her man and the stripper was considered a homewrecker and also not too credible. After all, who believes a stripper?

Celebrities can offer a certain image to the public when they're all cleaned up and smiling for the cameras. It's in those off moments when the image can slip. Duhamel has apologized for the cell phone incident. Let's hope he can stay out of trouble in 2011.
