Joss Stone Would Be Kidnappers Faced Charges in Court Today

Charlotte Kuchinsky
Singer Joss Stone's would-be robbers and kidnappers faced Exeter Crown Court this morning to hear the charges levied against them. Junior Bradshaw and Kevin Liverpool spoke very little during the arraignment. In fact, all they did was confirm information already known. That included their full names and current addresses as well as their birth dates.

Although the exact nature and severity of the crimes they intended hasn't been fully released, as is British custom, a few details were shared to allow the judge to make decisions about bail. That included information about the weapons found on the criminals who allegedly intended to rob, kidnap and perhaps even murder Joss Stone. Those weapons included a hammer, knives and swords. The culprits apparently also had maps that detailed the local area including Langford and Cullompton.

Neither defendant entered a plea during this morning's proceedings. That should occur during their next court appearance scheduled for the first of July. So, for now, it is unclear whether the duo will fess up to their intentions or try to cop a plea. It is also unknown what type of defense their attorneys intend to mount on behalf of the two men.

Joss Stone herself remains strong, assuring her fans that she is "fine and getting along with life..." Her poise throughout the situation seems unparalleled. Few people, suspecting that people wanted them dead, could keep such a cool, calm exterior. Of course, that may merely hide the turmoil that lies deep beneath. Still, the hearts of people everywhere are touched by this singer's story and by the way she has handled herself during this difficult time.
