Journal of a Fat Man: My Journey Back from Obesity Update 2-12-2010

Charles Johnson
Well today we find that a month has passed on my journey. It has been a month with some minor success. I have grown as a person, and shrunk alittle as a fat man.
Although I do have to tell a funny story to all of you. I was on the computer last night. Many of you know that I am on twitter, and my id is cj_johnson440. Well like I said I was on the computer, and I often get the little ribbon pop ups that tell you that people are online, or you got mail. I also get a message everytime someone follows me on twitter. Thank you all that do follow me on twitter, and for one person in paticular if you read this just know I literally have been laughing to myself, and with my friends for hours of fun, because of you. And this could easily become a ongoing joke for us. So thank you, and please don't take offense to this. Please understand it is just such a great laugh, I have to share it. So now that everyone knows the background to the story here goes:

So after working a long day I am online. Talking on the phone while surfing, when all of a sudden the ribbon pops up, and I read it, and can't stop laughing. Because it reads:
Subject Twitter: Belly Fat is now following you on twitter. The first thought in my head was OMG(Oh My God) I have been working so hard to get rid of belly fat, and it just won't go away. It follows me everywhere. And now it is even following me on twitter. LMAO( Laugh My Ass Off) I just couldn't help, but tell Carie the girl I was talking to on the phone, and we must of laughed for a solid hour, I just kept expanding it (expanding belly fat) lol. Everywhere I go it is following me LOL. So I shared this with all of you in hopes you will get a little laugh from a fat man. And twitter id belly fat, thank you oh so very much for following me and for making me laugh.

Well now with the comic relief out of the way, how was my week? It was riddled with challenges. Last sunday was the Superbowl. Oh yes the snack fest of all tv shows. Party on Superbowl freaks. I enjoyed the game emensly, and unfortunately am not proud to say enjoyed the snacks, and drinks also. The Superbowl was something we were all challenged with. I just wonder if other dieters faired better than I. I hope so.

But for me it was an indulgent weekend. I had my 11 year old daughter Raeann, and my 9 year old grandaughter Brianna stay the night Friday, Saturday, and they went home about 4 pm Sunday. Now being the great dad, and grandpa that I am, and not getting to spoil them as much as I would like, I must admit I overdid alot last weekend.
We went out to eat at Logan's Roadhouse for dinner Friday night the girls loved it. We all had steak, and I did do well I had a 8 oz steak, a salad, and baked sweet potato, but a soda. Then we went to the movies, and we watched When in Rome check out my movie review:

It was a very good movie and the girls loved it also. But movies are a snacking zone usually. And this was no exception for me, althought the girls did save me alittle with the popcorn as they devoured most of it. The we came home, and they watched Final Destination in 3-D, and of course promising they would be ok with a scary movie so I let them watch it. I am kinda a pushover for my girls. But I had to sleep on the coach as they slept on a bed I laid out on the floor of the living room, because they wanted me in the same room. I think they where scared LOL.

Now for saturday they got up around 11am, because we were up until around 4am. They ate their leftovers from Logan's, and I ate nothing. Then about 4 we went to at a china buffett. That was not my choicem just like Logan's was not my choice. I seem to enjoy just letting the girls get their way, and spoiling them. Then we went to the movies again, and we saw Avatar in 3-D. The only way to see it in my opinion. It was the 2nd time I had seen the movie, and you can check out my movie review:

It is an amazing movie. The girls loved it, and for a 2nd time I was still truly amazed. But the snack fest continued.

Then Sunday afternoon we went out to eat at Old Country Buffett. My grandaughters Brianna's favorite place to eat. So yes sunday was a food overindulgence day also. Then after they went home it was the Superbowl snackfest.
I must say, a sad weekend for the fatman's journal, but a truly awesome, and wonderful experience and weekend with family and friends.

So knowing that I would have to face that stupid scale, and report all this to all of you, who I so appreciate for being there for me through this all, and just reading, following me, and commenting. It helps me to be accountable to someone in this journey. So I planned on hitting it hard monday, and maybe undoing some of the damage of my overindulgent weekend.

But I was very sick monday, maybe to much to eat all weekend, but my stomach rebelled. So I didn't eat much, but I did't get to work out either. With only the rest of the week left I have been pretty good. Really bad weather, and the snow hasn't made me want to do anything as for exercise, but I was saved by long hours of work. Because I am now doing a much more physical job, and I went out of my way to move more, to lift more often, if I could to do little exersises, if I was just standing there, or to turn my lifting, and carrying into an exercise. I was just trying to somehow repair any damage at all, that this overdulgent weekend could of caused. I stayed away from the scale, I didn't want to be discouraged. And I was absolutely beyound a shadow of a doubt sure, I was going to have to report a gain to you all. The absolute worst thing I would want to have to do. So how did I do on the scale?

Well lets start off with the scale isn't everything ok. I am feeling myself tone up on my arms, and shoulders. Some of my shirts are even feeling tighter around the shoulder area as I am seeming to build muscles. But yes if you think I am avoiding the subject LOL maybe I am.

Or maybe I am not. Well lets recap I started off at 276 pounds 4 weeks ago. My weight last week was 272.0 and my weight now is 271.2 so with all that overindulgence I was still able to loose another .8 of a pound for a total weight loss of 4.8 lbs in approximately a month. with added muscle and a pants size reduction. Not amazing but I am happy with the results. I just still have so far to go. And I thank you all so very much for helping me. Supporting me and sharing your thoughts. May God bless all your endevors, and keep you and yours safe. Hugz CJ
