Joy Behar & Whoopi Goldberg Walk Off 'The View' After Dust-up with Bill O'Reilly (Video)

I'm not surprised Joy Behar got her panties in a wad when Bill O'Reilly was on "The View" today. Liberal-loud-mouth, Behar, masquerading as a comic and television host, has always made it abundantly clear that she can't stand the guy. So there.

But, I am surprised to learn that Whoopi Goldberg would, however, because, even though she and I don't see eye to eye politically, I've always found her to be reasonable, rational and fair-minded. Until today, I suppose.

Bombastic, Bill O'Reilly made an appearance on "The View" today and locked horns with both Behar and Whoopi, over the appropriateness of the Muslim mosque being built a few hundred yards from Ground Zero.

Bill O'Reilly has been (among others, frankly) quite outspoken about his views on the appropriateness of the mosque being built. Bill, along with approximately 70% of other Americans, agree that there is a legal 'right' to do it, according to our Constitution, but to do so displays a deep insensitivity to the families who lost loved ones during the 9/11 attack.

Of course, Whoopi and Joy both raised the tired issue of "having the right" once again and Bill O'Reilly, in the only way that he knows how, took them both on in a very loud and Irish way. As one might expect, pandemonium ensued and Barbara Walters was unable to reign in the fired up hosts and guest. Before you know it, Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg walk off the set.

As a regular viewer of Bill O'Reilly's show, I can say without question, that he tries to be very fair minded about this issue, but feels very strongly that the Muslim Imam Rauf is not. In fact, there have been other Muslims who have appeared on Bill's show and have voiced the same concerns over the entire debacle.

Unfortunately, the message doesn't seem to be penetrating so, let's say it again, shall we? While the Imam may have the "right", to build the mosque, the lack of sensitivity he is displaying is so offensive to most Americans and viewed as so egregious, that the only thing that is going to come out of this is more animosity and hostility toward Islam by Americans.

If Muslims wish for Americans to embrace their right to freely practice their religion in this country as we all practice ours (or not), then it seems to me and a more than a few other Americans, that they would understand that pouring salt in a wound is no way to make friends.

Emotions are too raw and the wound runs deep in the psyche of Americans. One would think that Whoopi Goldberg would understand that too.

Joy Behar? Pffft. Whatever.

Actually, your article is great! And I know from experience how hard it is to proof-read your own writing!

I'm with you, Mel. If you can't stand the heat........

The name of the show is the View. If Joy and Whoopie canot conduct themselves in a more professional manner and deal with opposing views they should be fired.
