I have been getting wings in Greenville from them since they started out with a small mobile food station off of Whitehorse Road in Greenville, SC over 2 years ago. Sure they were on the side of the road. One had to come to a screeching stop if they noticed the station alongside the 45 mph road. Yet, even being located in a not so popular area, good quality food has kept people coming back, while word of mouth on the fantastic taste proved to be their best marketing scheme.

Once someone tasted a sample Mrs. Erlene, the owner of J&S Wings, so generously gave out, an immediate and almost synthetic act of wild and crazed gestures would performed by the sampler. I can remember one particular incident where a guy stopped in and tried a honey barbecue sample. "Mmmmmmm! Wooooooow!" was the reaction of the grown man, as he did his best rendition of a touchdown dance. It looked more like someone shivering from hypothermia. Despite the crazed reaction, the taste influenced him to place an order of over 200 pieces of wings for his party. Once someone stopped by for a taste, they were hooked, and there would be lines of cars and people alongside the road and filling up the adjacent parking lot near their location, to place orders. There were so many people on a regular basis that she would often run out of wings. With her new store on Conestee Road, she still faces the high demand for those famous wings, as her dedicated fan base-including myself, has trailed behind. New customers are also discovering the wing place on a daily basis and again, demand is overwhelming supply. I guess that's what happens when your cooking is just that good.
