Juanita Bynum's Husband Bishop Weeks III Speaks Out

Stephanie Modkins
A few months ago, the Christian world was thrown for a loop when they found out that beloved televangelist Juanita Bynum was attacked by her husband bishop Thomas Weeks III. It was all over the news and prompted a lot of questions. One of the major ones was 'how long has this been going on?'

After their televised, royal marriage along with the strong messages Juanita Bynum had preached regarding womanhood and marriage, no one expected her to be caught up in a bad one. Single Christian everywhere, especially ones up in age, thought she'd finally got 'the one.' You know - that prince charming that would sweep her off her feet. So imagine everyone's shock when he turned out to be a dud. As a matter of fact, he was even worse than the average man most women marry.

Well now things are getting worse. Bishop Weeks III is coming out against Bynum. His claims are wild and in opposition of how she's described the marriage.

The story is posted now on the BET website and is pulled from an Interview that bishop Weeks III did with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. In essence, he blames Juanita Bynum for the failure of their marriage. She was the one who entered into it (allegedly) with a poor attitude and did things like their grandiose marriage for show.

He says it all began with a rumor that he was gay. It came from a close confident and Bynum took it to heart. In response, she filed divorce papers.

Although she later withdrew them, it was apparent to bishop Weeks III that his wife was not into their marriage. She felt 'stuck' and acted as if she regretted their union. These negative feelings (allegedly) led to them arguing and fighting. However, the person hitting despite popular beliefs was Bynum.

Bishop Weeks III says that he was hit on several occasions by his wife. He also denies ever hitting her back. Weeks III states her allegations of him kicking and stomping her was untrue and it can be reasoned out because she never went to the doctor right away. Her delay in seeking treatment, according to Weeks III, is because she really wasn't hurt.

At this time, no response has been made by televangelist Juanita Bynum. However, Weeks III recent interview sounds like a ploy of a batterer to dispel his actions. It is obvious from photos that Bynum was injured by him and there is a witness. Maybe we're trying to get out of going to jail?

Shame on the both of you's. I know for a fact because i used to work for Juanita that she was having an affair with Bishop Weeks was married while he was married. Stop relying on others to give you a message from God. Pick up your Bible and read it and comprehend for yourself. She is not the face of abused women. She is an abuser herself. When is she ever going to say sorry to the first Mrs. Thomas Weeks
