Jujitsu: a method of self-defense without weapons that was developed in Japan; holds and blows are supplemented by clever use of the attacker's own weight and strength.

If you are seeking Martial Arts classes I recommend the art of Jujitsu. I researched several different Martial Arts and decided on Jujitsu for my daughter. My research yielded the results I wanted and I like the fact that Jujitsu is not only offense and not only defense; it's a combination of the two as well as learning how to use the opponent's energies to your advantage. I felt Jujitsu would be excellent for someone small countering someone large.

Upon recommendation of a friend I found Champion Martial Arts in South Reno. Offering classes at two locations, the location I explored is at 16580 Wedge Parkway, Suite 200 in Reno, Nevada. Just two days per week, each class is a full hour packed with review and learning. With an intertwined mixture of belt levels the students learn discipline by routine and confidence by team working in groups. Older, higher belt level children assist those just getting started and the Sensei has mastered clean and effortless control of large groups of children.

Sensei Ryan, son of Grand Master, Professor Cary, has been trained by the best. Professor Cary has the highest achievements in the martial art world including being inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame and the Head Coach of the US Sport Jujitsu Team.

Sensei Ryan achieved being the youngest black belt in the history of Champion Martial Arts and was a two time Grand Champion for the Junior Sport Jujitsu. Now he focuses on improving the knowledge of others and setting a good example in the lives of people he trains.

These classes are taught in a fun yet extremely organized format. No child left behind, each getting the attention and guidance needed to excel. The format is routine, yet never boring. Fun, yet never crazy. Each child student has full respect for Sensei Ryan and his assistants.

My daughter enjoys the classes immensely and the bi-weekly events have increased her confidence as well as her muscle tone and physique. She looks forward to the classes, advancing belt levels and enjoying organized time with several of her friends who also attend the classes.

Jujitsu Classes in Reno can also be taken by adults at the location above as well as the second location at 600 S. Rock Boulevard #18, Reno, Nevada

I highly recommend Champion Martial Arts for Jujitsu training in Reno, Nevada
