Julia Coles, Brian Davis, the Coral, Pino Paladino and Sunga Jung: Lesser Known Internet Talent but They Are Great!

My "Talent Search" Yielded Wonderful Results!

Gary Davis
While I have little time for "American Idol" because of the judges primarily, if it hasn't taught us anything else it is that this world is full of talent and much of this talent goes unnoticed. Even established musicians often aren't recognized.

It is for that reason I went on a "search and find of You Tube internet talent and I was not disappointed.

The first video I offer you is Julia Coles, Pete Fry and Matt Thomas. Fry and Thomas can handle rock/funk/jazz guitar and bass as well as anyone. They do a great job supporting Julia Coles who can sing-the girl can just plain sing. In fact I wish more singers should smile like Coles-music is supposed to be a passion. Led by Coles' terrific range these three people do a great job. You can enjoy them here.

The next offering is Sungha Jung who is a South Korean young man and is at the tender age of 14-years-old. I offer to you his guitar rendition of McCartney's "Blackbird." This particular song is being performed when he was 10-years-old. As his website says his goal is to be an acoustic guitar performer. He already is pretty good as you can observe right here.

I run in to way too much talent. Of course as a musician even though I'm 62-years-old I miss being on stage. As I find sterling talent sometimes I run into established bands like this band Coral; they are from England. When I was in Vietnam there was a 1960's song called "Feel a Whole Lot Better" by the Byrds. Enjoy the masterful cover of that song by Coral here.

I want to share with you some work by the man considered by many including me to be the greatest bass player in the world, Pino Paladino. He is one of the most sought after studio musicians. The song I have linked to is "Who Do You Think I Was?" by the John Mayer Trio. Of course John Mayer has established himself as an iconic musician and you may have heard of another group Paladino tours with, The Who. Watch and enjoy Pino Paladino's bass work here.

This last musician is truly an amateur but has started to turn some heads with his recordings. There is a picture of him at his site where I am linking for the music if you care to look around. It is my son, Brian Davis. He is an "Acoustic/Folk Rock" artist. I offer two of my favorite songs that he has written and performed. These two songs are off of his first album entitled "Part to Play" which is also the title of my favorite song he has written. Enjoy his music here. Look for the last song "The Part to Play" and "Shadow Blues."

I love music. It is the greatest form of expression. A musician has to lay down their "self."

I much appreciate you readership.
