July 4th

Dear Constituents:

Dear Constituents:

I am taking this time to personally wish each and every one of you a happy Fourth of July. Our nation is facing the toughest of times on this holiday weekend and I want to assure you my colleagues and I are hard at work in our battle to dig out of this - the Great Recession: a period of which our nation has been sucker punched by corporate greed, socialist ideology and deficits wildly grown out of control. When you fire up the grills on Sunday, the day commemorating our nations birth some 234 years ago, do so with the comfort of knowing we will turn this mess around. Enjoy Monday, a national holiday in which the banks will be closed and the bills won't be delivered. Feel free to leave your message on my machine as this office will close early on Thursday July 1st but will reopen as we return to work on Monday July 5th refreshed from the week long paid vacation we are entitled to for the long hours spent representing the very best of interests driving this nation toward recovery.

As I am sure you are aware, we have passed a bill overhauling the entire Financial System in an effort to assure our hardworking Americans, the path to bursting bubbles can never happen again. The trickery and deceit that prevailed during the housing boom, forcing us to support the banking, auto and insurance industry through these difficult times are now so full of safe guards and consumer watchdogs, the political action committee's can now cut back on their spending and focus on repaying the government. Let me assure you, as these institutions recover your tax dollars will no longer be needed to support the million dollar salaries of CEO's through out this great nation of ours. As Christmas approaches, million dollar bonuses will come out of the coffers of companies and that is the way it always was and the way it should be.

I know health insurance is an important issue for everyone. Many companies offer health insurance plans. This country was founded on the principle of freedom. You should not be forced by government to have health insurance of any kind. No one in this congress has ever had health insurance forced down his or her throats. It's simply a benefit of the job and I want to thank you for your hard work in assuring your representatives are entitled to the best health care in the world.

As I embark on my week long vacation my heart goes out to the 1.3 million Americans who have lost their unemployment benefits and the 200,000 a week who will lose their unemployment benefits in each of the weeks that follow. My colleagues and I are most anxious to return to work and resolve this matter in a way in which we can get this deficit spending under control. I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your understanding regarding our growing deficit. I want to assure you, the 33 million a week we are saving by ending these foolish stimulus packages goes a long way in easing the pain of the 177 million a day we are forced to spend supporting the troops in Iraq.

As I embark on this week long vacation I, like you, look forward to the gathering of family, the warmth of the grill and the fresh taste of an ice cold Bud with loved ones. Happy 4th of July:

Your Congressman.

Addendum: We will be returning work on the 15th of July. Forgive the numerical error. Numerical errors are par for the course and we are continually trying to rectify the problem.
