July 4th Tasty Treat: Bacon Candy

Anonymous Brandy
If you are searching for a unique dish to serve at your 4th of July party, this bacon candy recipe is perfect for you. It's a wonderful addition to compliment your main dishes or a great idea to bring with you if you are the one attending rather than hosting. The directions are quite simple and the results are delicious!

You will need:

1lb of Bacon (thin sliced, not thick)
1/4 cup of Brown Sugar
Aluminum Foil
Baking Sheet

Step 1.
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2.
Slice each strip of bacon in half or into approximately 1/2 inch strips.

Step 3.
Thoroughly coat each strip of bacon with brown sugar.

Step 4.
Prepare a sheet of aluminum foil to fit the baking sheet. Slightly crumple the foil before placing it onto the sheet. You don't want it to be flat against the baking sheet surface. The crumples and creases will allow the grease to drain from the bacon.

Step 5.
Lay each strip of bacon separately on the foiled tray. Try not to overlap any pieces of bacon. They will stick to one and other!

Step 6.
Place the sheet of brown sugar coated bacon into the oven and bake until the strips are crisp.

Step 7.
Remove the sheet from the oven and let the bacon candy cool. Allow the finished product to become completely cooled and hardened before you serve.

Your guests will be sure to love this treat!

(*Note: People might feel that this recipe sounds a little less than healthy. Remember people, this is a treat and not to be over indulged. Enjoy at your own risk! You don't have to eat the whole pound of bacon! Just kidding! One piece shouldn't add any pounds to your beautiful figure! Try one! )

Hope you love the recipe and have a wonderful 4th!
