July Fourth Activities in Your City 2011 Part II

Fourth of July conjures up images of hot dogs, sparklers, a sunny day and so much more. Each year we celebrate our country in all sorts of ways, so below, find some fun activities for your Fourth of July in a city near you.

Fort Worth's Fourth
Fort Worth, Texas

With free music, family friendly games and food, hill sliding the levee and tubing the river, this is a fun event for all. Come at 4:30pm and stay for the shows, the battle of the bands, and the fireworks grand finale.
Grounds open at 4:30pm.
Fireworks start at 9:30pm.

National Independence Day Parade
Washington DC (District of Columbia)

This is an annual tradition in Washington DC, loved by many. Being in the capitol of our country, this parade is patriotic through and through, with flags waving, bands playing, military marching, and plenty of spectacular floats. The parade route usually starts at 7th street and continues down to 17th street along Constitution Avenue.
Parade starts at 11:45 am on July 4th.

Red White and Boom
Minneapolis, Minnesota

Sponsored by the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board, join in the celebration of family fun on the fourth of July. From 6-9pm, at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park, join in some free fun, games and entertainment for the family. Then stay for the grand finale at 10pm and watch the fantastic fireworks display. Check website for best viewing places as well as some fun activities that start on July 3rd.

Lincoln Independence Day Celebration
Lincoln, Nebraska

Check for exact start time, but know for sure that the fireworks, which will end the fun, will start at 10pm. But before the fun fireworks display, enjoy food, games, music and more for your July 4th celebration.
Location: Oak Lake Park at 1st and Charleston Streets.

Hollywood Bowl July 4th Spectacular
Los Angeles, California

Join Hall & Oates for a music extravaganza along with fireworks for a fun night on July 4th. Festivities begin at 7:30 pm at 2301 North Highland Avenue which is the Hollywood Bowl.
Tickets start at $136.00 per person.

Old Fashioned July 4th Festival
Denver, Colorado

From 10am to 4pm enjoy food (with Kettle Corn and Ice cream), a firetruck, horse drawn wagon rides (fee), craft demonstrations, children's games and more.
Adults $7 to get in, youth 7-17 $4, children under 6 and military with ID free and seniors $4.
Location: Four Mile Historic Park.
