Adrian, MI 49221
United States of America
Just off Beecher St, lies a quiet residential neighborhood with an industrial park background. Tucked in between is a tiny hole in the wall restaurant that has some of the best Mexican cuisine this side of the border.
This restaurant is family owned and the cooks have carefully followed authentic family recipes for years.
The place is usually packed full and standing and waiting for a table is not unheard of. Service seems to be pleasant. When they are busy it is hard to get the waitress for some assistance at times. Not to fret, the food is worth it!
The style at this eatery is definately laid back and casual. No need to wear your fancy clothes to this joint, although if you eat here for lunch and bring your business associates that ok too.
Mario's does not serve alcohol, so you will have to crank out a margarita when you get home.
The prices for the entress are very reasonable, on average you can have lunch and a pop for under $6.00 per person. They tend to be family friendly and they do offer a children's menu. There is close quarters in this little place but it's ok to bring the little ones.
As I said this place is small, tiny almost, only seats around 50 people and the parking is tight. If you want to eat and not wait, get there early.
They open at 10am and serve a selective breakfast menu of Chorizo Sausage burritos and breakfast soups. The real treat is their lunch and dinner menu.
Chips and Mario's Specialty homemade Salsa come free of charge and is some of the best Salsa I've ever tasted. Light, and not too spicy, their salsa reigns supreme! They also serve all food to go, so make sure to grab some salsa and chips to take home.
Some of their menu items include: Tacos, Enchiladas, Nachos, Chimichangas, Tostadas and Salads.
Their Nachos are good and have Mario's Authentic Crispy tortilla chips lined at the bottom of the plate topped with beef, beans, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese, perfectly melted and sure to please the most discriminating palate.
The Mario Taco is one of Mario's other Specialty's This Taco has perfectly seasoned beef, cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce, served hard shell with a side of beans or rice. Make sure to order two.
They offer a combo section of the menu and you can combine a lot of your favorites and try new things. These items include drinks and sides like rice and beans all for a low price. The taco and enchilada combo is a favorite!
Mario's is area renowned for one thing and one thing only, their Taco Salads. The huge Salad comes served in a 10 inch deep fried shell, layered with beef or chicken, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, guacamole, monetary Jack and Colby cheeses, and sour cream. You wont be able to eat the whole thing alone, it's huge and oh so tasty!
When you drive by Adrian on the map, and your tummy is growling, you must stop off at Mario's and grab some tasty eateries at this not so fancy diner.
