• Have a small snack of a fruit or dry fruits or nuts. This will give you the required surge of energy. Do not eat a full meal although it may not be a heavy meal right after tiring work. When you are tired, a loaded tummy cannot digest and eliminate wastes properly. Definitely avoid over-eating. Follow the small snack with a normal meal after you feel energetic. Avoid caffeine and refined sugary food - they are harder to digest in a tired body. Besides, they can only give a temporary energy boost.
• When you have your normal meal, eat whole grains, vegetables, greens and fruits that are easy to digest. This will keep you fresh and active and also let you sleep well to prepare for the next day's work.
• Drink plenty of water. This can invigorate you very quickly. Water hydrates the body and relaxes it.
• If you feel terribly exhausted, have a small nap. 30 minutes to an hour of sleep will give you significantly higher energy levels after work. Sleep is always rejuvenating for the body and the mind. Try to stick to a daily sleep routine and avoid disrupting it. Have 6-8 hours of sleep every day.
• Stretch your body and allow your muscles to regain elasticity and flexibility. 10-20 minutes of slow stretches can help you experience greater energy levels after work. Stretches also help you relieve back and neck pain that people often develop from long hours of desk job.
• Get some fresh air into your room if the weather is pleasant. Improved oxygen intake will boost your energy levels.
• Practice slow, long and deep breathing for about 20 minutes. You lungs will retain more oxygen in the process. Consequently, your blood will provide more oxygen to the cells in the body - this will give you a noticeable boost in your energy levels after work.
• Exercise can help improve your energy levels after work. But a vigorous aerobic workout could sap you out. Stick with gentle yoga or simply walk for 30 minutes.
• Learn to divert your mind after work. Listen to relaxing music or get engrossed in your hobbies. Recognize that carrying worries and stress about work at the time cannot solve your problems. Practice thinking objectively to keep agitation away from your mind. With enthusiasm and motivation anybody can get energized, no matter how tired they may be physically. On the other hand, stress can deplete energy levels from a perfectly healthy and active person.
• Meditate for 30 minutes after work. Meditation soothes the mind and frees it from accumulated stress. A calmer mind can energize the body and propel it into action.Strike a balance between your work life and home life. Prioritize your physical and mental wellness above everything else for if you are not healthy in your mind or body, there is nothing you can accomplish at home or work.
