David Rice is your average teenage boy who has a major crush on a fellow student by the name of Millie. One day after finding the nerve to give her a gift, he is taunted by one of the school bullies. This is an eventful day for David, because he realizes his ability to teleport. His first attempts don't go so well; he does however get the hang of it. David is an only child and the relationship with his father is not a close one by any means; his mother left when he was only five years old. Finally he decides to follow the footsteps of his mother and leaves home.
David is now twenty three years of age, and has a very nice apartment in New York City; he has been everywhere humanly possible. Lunch on top of the pyramids, dinner in London. Having an ability such as this has worked in his favor so far; he finds out it has severe consequences as well. One day after arriving home from one of his travels he meets Roland who has broken into his apartment. It turns out that he is a Jumper Hunter and is there to kill David, but somehow he manages to escape.
While visiting Rome David runs into another Jumper by the name of Griffin who takes him under his wing so to speak. Griffin explains to David that there has been a war between Jumpers and Hunters that spans throughout centuries. Together they battle Roland and his henchmen who always seem to be just one step behind them. David eventually finds out why his mother left him as a small child.
This movie was action packed and although I would like to say that it is the greatest action film of 2008, I would be saying so prematurely since its only February. I love the plot of this film, because its something different and exciting. Normally the trailer gives you the best scenes in the film, but in this case it shows only a small percentage; this film was off the charts amazing.
