June 28, 2010 Unemployment Extension Update Coming? or Will Senate Ignore 1.2 Million
2010 Unemployment Benefits Extensions Are on Hold-Or Are They Dead?
The 2010 Unemployment Benefits Extension seems to be on hold-some think the extension benefits are dead. Which is it? Jobless Americans are hopeful that the Senate will finally propose the legislation as a single item on Monday, June 28, 2010.
If the Senate doesn't propose the 2010 Unemployment Benefits Extension on Monday-the possibility that it might not pass for weeks becomes a thought. Why is Monday, June 28 so important in the possiblity that such legislation might pass? Because the Senate is going on recess for July 4th. That means unless something passes early this week it seems unlikely it will happen at all. That's why tomorrow, June 28, could be a very important day for 1.2 million people who lost those benefts.
Even if the Senate brings up the issue in one day it would still need to go to the House to further pass a vote. It would then need to get to the President. There have been some indications that such legislation could originate in the House from speaker Nancy Pelosi. It would still need to be sent to the Senate for passage and then to the President. For this 2010 Unemployment Benefits Extension to happen this week, something needs to happen quickly. June 28, 2010 could be a very important day in the scheme of things.
1.2 million people are now without benefits after reaching Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 or the start of Tier 4. New people will be added to that numbers as they exhaust their standard 26 weeks or reach the end of a particular Tier.
The numbers are still frightening and very alarming. Around 300,000 new jobless Americans without benefits will be added each week that the Senate does not act. There are reports that the number in this group will include 1.6 million by the upcoming July 4th weekend. The numbers are quickly becoming a nationwide epidemic as the Senate continues to waste critical time on the issue. Now the Senate has dropped the legislation entering the weekend. Will the Unemployment issue come up on the agenda on June 28, 2010? Or will the House have to propose a different set of Unemployment legislation? Only time will tell as the window of opportunity is running out before the Senate takes recess. That recess could cost the jobless even more time before they receive benefits if it doesn't happen this week.

Forced Suicide by the Millionaires.
As I post over and over again.
There will be no more extensions.
The Demedont's and Republicant's don't care.
They have their jobs.
I don't see any extensions happening at all.
Myself I run out next week.
I am scared on what is going to happen to the American people.
EyesWideOpen your Ignorant I am a quality manager for aerospace shoop who has been out of work for more then a year at first i took a cut in pay to stay in my job then i went part time to stay at my job when finally they could not afford even that i collect unemployement and i do stay at home on the couch, these days you dont go looking for a job you put your resume online you look in you local paper on line and send resumes that way or monster or some other way you look online you fool how long does that take if your looking for a specific job i look and there are 3 jobs maybe that i am qualified for then guess what i sit on my couch i hope you dont spend all your days with these 3 ppl do you really see what they do all day
Let me put this in Reagans terms as the Republicans like to quote Reagan and think he is the hero of the 80s, this is a trickle down effect, if we dont get our unemployement insurance we dont buy food or pay our phones (if we dont have our phones we cant get calles from a perspective employer) we dont pay rent, we dont pay for services like hair cuts to look good for a job interview, i cant pay for gas to get to a job interview Trickle down baby trickle down i guess reagan was right at this point........ i hope it trickles down at the poles becouse as an independant voter i dont care if a dem or a rep is in office its what you do for me lately baby not what you do for yourself
This is my second note to express my anger in the senate for not passing the bill to extend Unemployment benefits, which I am on the EB extention and still have money left in my claim,it has now been 3 weeks since my checks stopped and I am beyond angry,I cannot pay my bills,I cannot eat,I worry all the time,I am trying hard to look for work but no luck at all,in the meantime I need to live!! What am I suppossed to do?? These senators that shoot down this bill has no sympathy for people like us,they have money, they are set, this is outrageous!
My situation is a product of the economy and illegal immigration! After working 11 years of loyal service for the same company I was let go in December 2008 after being in a car accident and suffered a severe back injury, the other driver who hit me was an illegal with no insurance or drivers license, what a surprise!!! All he got was deported to later learn that he had returned and was now working at the very same company I was working for, I couldn't believe it!!! Yes I reported it!!! Now I have no job, no health insurance, and a handicap that I need a cane to walk with. I could not qualify for unemployment for 6 months because I was physically unable to work and was rejected 3 times for disability benefits. I finally got unemployment benefits and went back to school to learn a trade that was better suited to my physical condition, but who is going to hire someone with health issues with so many other canidates with none??? Answer is nobody will. Now the final insult for me comes by
All of the unemployed need to bombard their senators and representatives about the urgency of passing this extension. For some reason, Republicans think the unemployed don't vote. Fear of losing votes is the only thing that will motivate them. Go to opencongress.org and vote for this bill. Numbers mean everything.
After being employed for 30 years and paying my taxes faithfully, I don't consider the little bit of unemployment I'm receiving as a "Government Handout". I've worked hard for my benefits but will be cut off after receiving only 26 weeks meanwhile there are people who have been collecting over 70 weeks - how's that fair? I just want to get back to work as soon as possible, but not at some fly by night job.
