Everyone should celebrate this special day devoted to our feline companions. What could be more perfect than to celebrate the cat or kitten in your life by giving them a big, furry hug. Mark your calendars, June 4th is hug your cat day!

There could be a slight danger on hug your cat day. Most cats do not like being hugged. They let you know when they want to be loved. If they are not in the mood, keep your distance. The hug you try to give your lovable fur ball could result in a nip or scratch.

I would suggest waiting until after they eat to do the actual hugging. I know from experience showering love and hugs on your cat while eating makes them cranky.
