JunkScience.com Issues Challenge to Prove Global Warming is Man's Fault

Jim Smoot
Are you tired of the naysayer's constantly claiming that global warming isn't man's fault, despite what the UN and activists say? Do you believe Al Gore is telling the truth (about global warming, not inventing the internet)? Here is your chance to silence the critics.

JunkScience.com has issued the Ultimate Global warming Challenge. The first person that can scientifically prove that harmful global warming is the fault of human activity will win $100,000.

Now before you go rushing over to their website to get your entry in, there are a few things you need to know about the challenge.

While the challenge is legitimate, JunkScience.com is not about to accept circumstantial evidence, or leaps in logic. They are going to require scientific proof. They also have cushioned the odds in their favor by intentionally leaving some terms and concepts relatively vague. Their rules state that entrants acknowledge this vagueness, and agree that JunkScience.com reserves the right to interpret and apply the terms as they see fit.

Two Hypotheses

The contest winner has to completely refute two hypotheses using scientific methods and data.

Ultimate Global Warming Challenge Hypothesis #1

"Man made emissions of greenhouse gases do not discernibly, significantly and predictably cause increases in global surface and tropospheric temperatures along with associated stratospheric cooling."

Ultimate Global Warming Challenge Hypothesis #2

"The benefits equal or exceed the costs of any increases in global temperature caused by man made greenhouse gas emissions between the present time and the year 2100, when all global social, economic and environmental effects are considered."

The Rules

Their website lists the rules for the contest, including the comments relating to the vagueness of the terms and concepts, and if you are interested in trying to win the $100,000 you need to read the rules before submitting your entry.

Any data or scientific evidence that you use to make your case must be available to the public, and be readily available. Remember, they're looking for scientific proof. Quoting something you heard on a news report will not be accepted as scientific evidence.

JunkScience.com will be accepting entries for the Ultimate Global Warming Challenge between August 7, 2007 and December 1, 2008. There is a $15 non-refundable entry fee.

All entries will be posted on the contest website, and will be available to the public.

So if you're convinced that global warming is mans fault, and think you can prove it, head over to JunkScience.com's Ultimate Global Warming Challenge, and shut your critics up once and for all.
