Jury duty, so much fun
Sit around with everyone
Drink bad coffee, watch TV
Write bad poems for AC
They inform us they will pay
A whole twelve dollars for the day
My job pays more than twelve an hour
This makes my outlook rather sour.
If I can just through this day get
For two more years I will be set
No more chores of civic duty
Till then, I'll sit here on my booty.

Post a CommentLOL. Thank you for serving. At least you can read or write while you wait!
Bleh @ jury duty! I don't envy you, but at least you made a cute poem of it. :)
I do this, too, carry a notebook because there's so much down time. I was amazed in the selection process how long it took.
This was a rather brilliant use of your down-time, Ali! "If I can just through this day get/For two more years I will be set" is hilarious rhyme scheme, Bat Girl. ; )
I've been on jury duty 4 times and missed once :)
Two more years if you're lucky! I get called every year to 18 months!
I loved this! Perfectly accurate! I did serve on a jury a few years back and it was fascinating! I know my time is coming up any day now!
Cute poem. (At least you didn't get pinkeye as I did once on a jury I was actually seated on.
Yeah, my Dad was ORDERED to sit on a jury around the time we were meant to have a holiday in Austria when I was a boy. Looked like we'd have to cancel for a time. I know it's meant to be democratic, but it's a bit rich that YOU'RE losing money. Almost like you're being treated like a criminal and fined!
Jury duty seems to come round for everyone, sooner or later. You caught the flavor of the day!
