Just Because It's Your Destiny Doesn't Mean It's Always Easy

You may feel it's your destiny to be rich, successful, a mother, an author, etc. You feel it in your bones and you know it will happen eventually.

Some days are so easy - the creativity flows from your brain into your life's work and it's a joy to be alive. Other days you wonder....

If it's your destiny - why is it so hard? Shouldn't it be easy, the Universe showering you with luck and opportunities daily?

I love watching reality TV shows like American Idol and America's Next Top Model and I'm always struck by the delusions of people who think that having a dream (despite a lack of talent) is enough.

Even worse is that when we have the dream plus the natural talent and we still aren't getting anywhere.

When The Secret came out many people focused very hard on what they wanted... and nothing happened. I remember myself, desperately wishing for my dream (which at the time was working for myself) and feeling so pissed that it wasn't working.

The unsexy secret is that we have to go on a journey and encounter practical realities along the way. Success is about regular consistent actions.

If you want to be a successful actress you have to go on heaps of auditions and probably will get rejected many times.

If you want to be a published author you need a regular daily discipline of writing and you'll probably get comments from people that you suck.

If you want a regular stream of clients and customers, you have to market yourself constantly, sometimes the pay-off will take a while.

etc...

These things don't have to be hard, but they take effort and you'll have to confront your fear of not being good enough.

Having the big dream is only half of the equation. The cool thing though is cultivating a sense of destiny will take you far. It will give you the courage to act in all sorts of ways that most people won't and take risks that scare you. This may be sending in an article, starting a business, writing your first blog post...

Destiny without hard work is merely delusion. Some days are easier than others and you will feel like the heavens are smiling down on you. Other days you just want to give up. That's understandable.

The irony is with the Law of Attraction is that who you are today is only enhanced. Feel abundant with what you have today and you'll attract more abundance. Feel blessed about your current opportunities and you'll be blessed with even more.

For the days that are hard, do my favourite affirmation. Put your hand on your heart and affirm to yourself out-loud, "I am ready for the next step".

Do it now. Do it every day for the next two weeks and things will start to happen. I promise you, you'll be shocked at the opportunities that will come your way.

Your destiny is heading towards you, inevitably but slowly. By keeping your dream alive and doing at least one baby step every day, you'll bring it so much closer.
