Just Blame Barack

Place Your Problems at New President's Feet

Eric Williams
Barack Obama has officially been in office for all of 85 days and yet detractors all over the country have tried to blame him for every negative event that has taken place recently from the latest earthquake in L'AQUILA, Italy to the nearly unprecedented string of irrational grisly multiple murders that have taken place all over the U.S. in recent weeks.

Well, I, for one, am sick and tired of it!

You mean to tell me that our previous President, George W. Bush, can literally get away with causing the senseless deaths of thousands of U.S. soldiers due to a 'fictitious' war that began on the basis of a flat-out lie (Hmmm, where are those weapons of mass destruction anyway?) while simultaneously running this country into economic ruin and all somehow seems to be quickly forgotten.

Hogwash, I say.

The fact of the matter is that Obama, no matter how good of a president he turns out to be, will need a minimum of both terms, to even have a realistic chance of coming close to balancing the country's current economic deficit, which, by the way, was all incurred during the Bush administration.

Lest I remind anyone, when Bush's predecessor, Bill Clinton left office, he left with a budget that was in the black for the first time in decades.

The reality of Obama's presidency so far is that no one can really determine fairly, at such an early juncture in his tenure, exactly what kind of president Obama is and will become.

However, what I do know is that Obama has been unfairly judged by millions of people throughout less than two months of his first term as president, an insanely short amount of time for any presidency, Barack Obama included, to be judged on, particularly when you figure in the fact that no president in U.S. history has had to deal with as many daunting tasks as the current president has on his oversized plate.

While the fair and honorable thing to do would be to give Obama some semblance of a reasonable amount of time (how about a year at the very least people?) before judging him on every ailment that the U.S. is currently mired in, which once again, was due to no fault of his own.

Nevertheless, I realize what kind of society we're currently living in and the vast amount of hatred that pollutes millions of Americans hearts, both black and white, on a daily basis and that some folks love to 'hate' on others no matter what kind of gifts they bring to the world.

So in jest, again I say, if something's wrong in the United States, 'Just blame it on Barack' it's gotta' be his fault right?

You have summed it up right to the point, it is quite a shame to see and feel how divided this country still is. Wake-up America, it is time for real changes to take place and time to let go of the old tired guard.
