Just for Collin

Collin, I always want you to know how extra special you are to me. I love all my grandchildren with my heart but you are so much like me. You are special.

You enjoy life and the littlest of things. You always try no matter how well you do. Some are fortunate and everything they touch turns to gold. That is not me. I have to laugh as I say that but maybe that is why we appreciate things more.

Hiking to find deer or turkey poop and then finding a bear was there is extra special. Knowing nature whether you hunt or do not. Appreciating nature and respecting it. People say animals are dumb but they out smart more people than you know.

I hope your fascination grows with you and it becomes a large part of your life. Our world has been so abused and disrespected for so long. Your generation is the one to suffer the most. Your generation is the one that has to continue to fix the mistakes of past generations. I truly believe that is why God put you here. I hope it is something you keep interested in and follow through with but whatever you decide to do it will be right. It will be your best.

When I look at you and spend time with you I often think when I was that age. If someone would have guided me that way. Only you can make your decisions and live them my buddy.

I just hope all that we have done together has left an imprint with you. I hope you never forget the special things we've done. Sitting on the porch at night, wrapped in a blanket watching a lightning storm in a distance, etc.

I guess I can go on and on. I just want you to always know, what is great and important does not necessarily have a price. Although it will always leave a memory. Something that no one can ever take away.

Remember that and our volcano we always escaped from. The from we had and share. Just enjoy life. I love you with all my heart.
