Just Let Me Lie Down

Robin Jessie-Green
Just let me sleep

Don't want to feel heat from the sun's rays

Don't want to hear birds tweet

Or see the light of day

Just let me be

Let me wallow in my sadness

I embrace my misery

As with anything

I take my depression seriously

I've lost all hope

Thinking of tomorrow

Just let me mope

Whine and express my sorrow

Not to worry

Eventually I'll come around

But I'm in no hurry

Yes, I'll pick myself back up

But for now

Just

let

me

lie

down.

Sometimes you just don't wanna be bothered. Just leave me alone, for now, and let me lie down. This is especially true for me in rainy, dreary weather.
