JUST LISTEN
I HAVE LEARNED AS A PARENT SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO LISTEN. YOUR CHILDREN DO NOT ALWAYS WANT YOUR ADVICE OR OPINION, THEY JUST WANT AN IMPARTIAL AND ATTENTIVE EAR TO LISTEN. THIS IS A VERY HARD THING TO DO, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A MOTHER. WE ARE FIXERS BY NATURE. USUALLY WHEN YOUR CHILD WANTS TO TALK ABOUT SOMETHING IT IS A PROBLEM THEY ARE HAVING. THEY JUST DO NOT ALWAYS WANT YOU TO FIX IT. CHILDREN OFTEN NEED TO SORT THINGS IN THEIR HEAD OUT LOUD. THIS HELPS THEM MAKE RATIONAL DECISIONS. SO WE AS MOTHERS MUST SIT BACK AND LISTEN TO THE DECISIONS THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE. NOW, WITH ENOUGH EXPERIENCE, YOU CAN LEARN TO QUIETLY SLIP A SUGGESTION IN WITHOUT BEING CAUGHT. THE POWER OF SUGGESTION CAN GO AN AWFUL LONG WAY,ESPECIALLY IF DONE CORRECTLY. WE WANT OUR CHILDREN TO SUCCEED IN THIS WORLD, EVEN WHEN WE ARE NOT AROUND SO WE MUST TEACH THEM TO TEACH THEMSELVES HOW TO MAKE A GOOD DECISION. THIS IS SOMETHING MOST ADULTS HAVE TROUBLE DOING. MAYBE WE JUST DON'T HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE TO LISTEN TO US.
